Just got back from Big Guava Festival in Tampa this weekend and here's a few things to take away from it: - Outkast is going to blow you quacking minds. Bring a change of underpants. - Magic Man is a killer act and there's no way I'm missing them at the pre-party. - Chance was able to perform so expect him to make his appearance at Hangout as well. - I'm in full-blown festival mode right now and I am so ready to hit the beach. 10 days!!!
Black Keys are streaming Turn Blue on iTunes in its entirety. The first song is basically a six minute jam session. Needless to say our faces will be melted Friday night
anyone watching Jazzfest? had to turn foster the people off after a few songs they were so underwhelming
I turn every act in that setting off immediately. Middle of the day, no lights/effects, changes everything. Did the same for Phish. Like em, not enough to watch them on AXS in that setting.
Saw them in a good setting a little over a week ago (Ryman)... Cool lights, but lights aren't enough to tickle my fancy, and their "Fortress of Solitude" icicle array on stage reminded me of a bulldozed aggro crag (yes... superman and global guts reference in the same sentence... bonus points??)... Show was alright, energy was up for a synth-pop band, though I've seen better. Didn't go in as a huge fan of FTP, nor did I leave as one, but didn't hate it either.
Foo Fighters on the other hand... WELL I would watch them play in any setting on any day... They played mid-day in 2011 (bonus set covering for cee-lo), nothing but covers, and still blew my mind. They can come back every year for all I care... And with the depth of their catalogue, you never know what they're all about, other than that they're gonna bring it.
And GnR?!?! Good for a 4 PM booze fest and reminiscent laugh, unless a miracle happens and the real GnR gets back together... Hell even just having Slash back in the mix would work. As far as legacy pipe dreams go... give me Van Halen!
And while we're making wishlists... Gimme a helping of that good good with Arctic Monkeys, Muse, and OASIS FTW!
I'd stomach Kanye, and probably even enjoy most of his set between my cynical comments to whoever I'm with... But I'd prefer HOV!
Also, who's got some live youtube recs for undercard acts? Already pretty much exhausted their supply of Reignwolf (a few times over- haha). Looking for full sets, or atleast a few songs.
Almost had a heart attack at the age of 27 this week. Had a huge blow up with my manager about my time off that out of nowhere she decided not to approve for Hangout. Had to go above her and get some higher ups involved- crisis averted. I probably would have just called in sick for a week straight if I had to but that is a load off my shoulders. 8 days...

im staying on the beach on the west side this year does anyone know the best/closest spot to go food/booze shopping? last year we stopped in the piggly wiggly on 59 on our way down but it was like a half hour from our hotel.

We're staying at crystal shores west again this year which is about a half mile from the west entrance and there was a few small liquor stores. Very friendly with a large selection of alcohol, tobacco, mixers, wine and beer. Now for food you may have to travel north of the fest but it's no More then a mile or two or there are stores like you know to the east a few miles.
Well we had a couple different friends coming for 1 day each... one of them just had to cancel. My buddy was whining earlier this week that he didn't know if he was going to be able to be there on Friday or not.... I just told him to suck it up buttercup and make it happen. Sucks since its usually just me and him and other friends filtering in and out. I may end up going solo for Friday.

Did anyone see the weather predictions for next weekend? I actually laughed when I saw how perfect it's going to be. 80 and sunny everyday with virtually no chance of rain at all.
i didnt know anything about the hangout last year, only time i heard of it was the first year in an offhand way that i didnt even think about. i had an blast every single day last year from start to finish but this year my excitement level is like times 10000000000000000000 now that im a little more familiar and love the lineup even more....OUTKAST!
