From that webpage you posted, it looks like that's the normal VIP price though. I think the advanced price sale had them for like $800ish so I was wondering they even allow payment plans for the lower price or just for full price VIP passes. Out of our huge group last yr we have about 5-6 hat seem to be on board for VIP as well which is all I need. We're having trouble booking places which is a downer though. I emailed like 5 diff condo owners at San Carlos and only 2 responded and both are booked already. Still a big work in progress.
looking at island winds east now and they only have 1 bedrooms for 336 a night for next year. it doesnt get much worse than that. can you guys give me some places on either end within about a half mile from the fest?

Can't help you out if you're looking for cheaper, because I'm pretty sure those are just the prices we're dealing with from here on out. But if you're just looking for 2-3 bedrooms, try any of these:
West: Ocean Reef Island Tower Southern Sands Driftwood Towers
East: Regatta San Carlos Seawind Island Shores Clearwater
Zaj, not sure why you're struggling so much. Are you solely using VRBO or have you contacted a rental company? Meyer still has 6 condos available at San Carlos (but their deposit is like 30% or something astronomical for it being a year away), Kaiser has 5. My group stayed at Crystal Shores on the west side this year, but I'm trying the east side and San Carlos for 2015. I booked next year's condo through Relax on the Beach, which I know nothing about, but I just checked their online system and they still have one condo available at San Carlos for Hangout 2015 (it's unit 808). I didn't book our condo for 2014 until January, and I think I sent emails to 25 people on VRBO and heard back from 3. Immediately after Hangout was over this year I contacted 8 people on VRBO and got 2 responses. If someone doesn't get back to you within 24 hours, you probably aren't going to hear from them.
336 a night for a 1 bed room is insane though. i paid 900 (for 3 nights) for a 2 bed room across the st from the beach less than a mile away. expecting to have a bigger group next year so money should be less of an issue but this gonna suc big time if all these places are jacking prices up like this

My 2bd/2ba, a little under a mile from the west entrance, beachfront condo was $350 per night in 2014. My 3bd/3ba, ~1/4 mile from the east entrance, beachfront condo will be $440 per night in 2015.
Those numbers include everything, all taxes and fees. I assume that Island Winds quote of $336 per night doesn't include AL state tax, cleaning fees, parking passes, etc. so it's probably over $400 per night. Just stay somewhere else.
i will be bcuz i wont be able to fit many people in a 1 BR but that was jsut the first place i looked at. where did you book the 3br at? 440 for 3 br is a good deal bcuz u can sleep 4-6 people and that makes the price better per person
Just booked the seawind right next to san carlos for a total of $1840 for 4 nights. Sleeps 8 guys, we'll squeeze in 10. Not bad at all. Only slightly more than San Carlos was last year. Appreciate the heads up Stella.
VRBO.com had a lot of cheaper prices. I booked a two bedroom in Seabreeze which is walking distance and sleeps 9 for $598.45 Thursday-Tuesday all fees included. Not exactly where I wanted to be but couldn't pass up the price.
San Carlos, 365 E Beach Blvd. There's still a couple 3 bedrooms at San Carlos available on the Kaiser website but they're way more expensive than mine, like $560 per night. Kaiser has a bunch of 3 bedroom units available at Seawind though, which is right next door, for ~$460/night. There's also a 3bd/2.5ba at Ocean Reef (two buildings west of Island Winds - if you walked on the west side of the beach, they're the brown townhouses) on Meyer for ~$500/night.

Okay, I could do some research but I think I'd like the info from people who have been there before. My friends and I have been to Roo a few times, and love it, but are also looking to expand our horizons. So here goes a few questions.
1. About how much does this fest cost (plain old GA tickets with camping or lodging included)? 2. Is it better to go with the packages they have on the website? or try and buy a ticket and get lodging later? 3. Does it sell out quickly? Like, do you have to buy tickets pre-sale and then hope the line-up is good? like Lolla? 4. How are the vibes?
They keep saying
Don't stop, no one's ever enough
I'll never look back, never give up
And if it gets rough, it's time to get rough
But now I'm falling, falling, falling
I did not go this year but was there last year and will be back in 2015. Here are my answers: 1. About how much does this fest cost (plain old GA tickets with camping or lodging included)?
Early Bird tickets were $189 and regular were $229 last year. I’d imagine a slight increase as the alumni tix were $189 this year and were $169 last year. So tickets will probably be $209 early bird and $249 regular if I had to guess. There is no camping at the fest. There is camping a ways away which is reasonable but you would need a shuttle pass. This is a beach festival and really the only way to stay is the condos. I have never done the packages but from my experience, you’d be better off finding a condo within walking distance of the fest on VRBO.com (which seems to be much cheaper than the Meyer/Robinson/Kaiser prices are at the moment. I got a condo less than a mile any for $589 with all fees includes for Thursday-Tuesday. This was cheaper than my condo in Orange Beach from two years ago with an extra day. I found a few other places within walking distance for reasonable prices on the site. I went through Meyer last time and they were great but prices have gone up immensely.
2. Is it better to go with the packages they have on the website? or try and buy a ticket and get lodging later?
See above, but a lot of people already have their condos booked. You may want to put a deposit down now to ensure a close and reasonably priced place.
3. Does it sell out quickly? Like, do you have to buy tickets pre-sale and then hope the line-up is good? like Lolla?
It did sell out this year and before fest date. Early birds do go quickly.
4. How are the vibes?
It is a laid back, chill, party on the beach vibe. There are a lot of idiot frat guy types and last year a lot of the hippy types but they are getting away from that vibe. A lot of younger Edm fans. The crowd is mostly 20’s but you’ll find a bunch of us on here in our mid thirtys and even up from there. There aren’t many major problems. There is absolutely nothing like it. I have been to a lot of fests and just count down the days for Hangout. It was the best experience of my life and will be going back every year I can.

Any help will be appreciated!!
1. 2014 tickets were $260 with fees (not pre-sale, I don't know the pre-sale cost). The day the lineup was released Pretty Lights tweeted a discount code, so I think I got mine for $225. The only "tiers" were loyalty (sold on the Sunday of the previous year's Hangout), pre-sale, and then full price. Most people book condos, though the campgrounds in the area certainly fill up. Most of the posts immediately above yours are about condo rentals, so you can check those out to see the cost. Most of us are talking about places that are walking distance from the festival, definitely no more than a mile, but Hangout does run a shuttle system for those staying further out. The price for the shuttle is $50.
2. Meyer, Kaiser, etc. are probably more expensive than finding something on VRBO, but a lot of people re-book the same condo year after year, so much of what you see available on VRBO may already be booked. This year I stayed at Crystal Shores (which I found on VRBO), 1 mile west of the fest and directly gulf front, and our 2bd/2ba condo was $1400 for four nights. Meyer has a really large deposit requirement, I think it's like 30% down, so if I went with one of the Hangout-affiliated companies I'd look at Kaiser first.
3. No. This year's shuttle lines sold out before the fest did, but Hangout gave warning on Facebook/Twitter about how close they were to selling out. Hangout 2014 sold out on April 24th, and the first line to sell out was the east line on April 18th.
Moten, loyalty tickets were $180 this year, fees and everything included. I bought four and my card was charged $720.

Sorry if I missed it, but what do we think the dates are for next year? May 14-17? I assume that's gotta be the weekend since Memorial Day is May 25th and they wouldn't cut into the holiday weekend beach rental business...
