dude, exactly....inflation. point was that REM was big, and given inflation was getting a lot more than 400k...so, either bands are making a lot less, or JJ is only relatively big. I don't remember who posted the #'s and I'm not going to search for them...was just a few days ago. Maybe they were wrong.
I would imagine Michael Franti & Spearhead will be back. He has been to HOMF every year but last year. His crowds were always big and he struck up a friendship with Hangout founder Shaul Zislin. He also had his family with him every year and would stay down in Gulf Shores for vacation most years after the festival.
The last year he was at HO, in 2012, I finally went over and listened to him at the "Hangout Stage" and he put on a show! Great energy, huge crowd and very fun. I didn't even know what he sang, at that time, and it was still a blast.
Rolling Stone saying G'nor's Ball got Outkast means nothing in terms of Hangout. They both shared Kings Of Leon last year. I don't see how that has much effect at all.
I don't think anyone knows for sure, but I don't think what Governor's Ball gets matters.
So if the prevailing opinion pre-lineup drops was that Outkast was doing three festivals, and they're most likely Coach/Counterpoint/Gov Ball that means...nothing?

Yeah- I saw that. Two night on the second weekend. But there's something about seeing them in my hometown that makes it better

Dem numba's was gross sales, brudder. Festivals pay headliners more than the average gig. JJ grossed 430,000 per show on his tour last year. He'd get paid more than that for a festival though.
S'all good, though. I'm gonna just sit back and enjoy the ride from here on out. And dedicate some pics to our little thread's biggest crusader.

Coachella, GB, counterpoint- that's three. Outkast was supposed to be booked for only three fests. That info comes from off this board. I can't tell you if 3 is truly the magic #. We shall see next Wednesday. I think outkast is out. I believe The Killers will be the shared headliner with GB.
