Nine Inch Nails is out; tour of the UK starts the 18th.
That's a shame. Although I feel like Hangout wouldn't book an act like that anyway which sucks. Was easily the best show I've seen all year when I caught 'em at Lolla.
I think Hangout is capable of booking anyone they want to. It's hard to overlook the evidence that last year, they had Macca. He was coming, and then Roo paid just enough to keep him exclusive for them and Outside Lands. While I think Hangout is not entirely on the level of those fests in terms of name recognition and size, it is quickly becoming a prestigious festival to play. We have no clue who is going to play outside of Amos Lee and most likely the Flaming Lips; everything right now is speculation.
What is this "evidence" you speak of?
His tour dates started that weekend in Florida. He could have easily played Hangout to open the tour.
The 1975 posted tour dates today. The weekend of Hangout, they're in the area and have the whole weekend open. Also, Portugal. the man stopped by their studio the day tickets went on sale. Would love to see them there.
Hangout also posted pictures of a yellow submarine on their facebook. It was gonna happen. You can believe me or not. It screamed Macca.
For what it's worth, and speaking from personal knowledge, if Hangout had signed McCartney to play, then Bonnaroo belatedly came in and said "oh, we want an exclusivity clause in the contract," they'd be sh*t out of luck as they couldn't post-operatively enforce that on a signed contract between Macca and Hangout. It simply isn't possible.
The "evidence" you speak of seems closer to when Bonnaroo posts Rolling Stones videos and crap on their Facebook page. Sometimes that sh*t just happens and has NOTHING to do with booking. More than likely its just the festival doing a good job of stoking the fire and getting people excited about rumors and possibilities.
What you have described is not "evidence," it's "coincidence."
Regardless, my earlier point of uncertainty in this year's lineup is still true.

The 1975. Yes, please.
Dear Tiny Jesus, in your golden-fleece diapers with your tiny, little, fat, balled-up fists, please let us expand on our British Invasion this year at Hangout.
I like Pearl Jam for Saturday night. I think we will still have an oldie (older than PJ at least) for Sunday, just not sure who.
I would love Outkast if they can pull it off. I am more of the jam band type of guy but Outkast was one of the most funshows I have ever been to back in 2001.
This is a bit of an inside joke, not a poke at you personally, bama.
didnt know AC ran Hangout.
They don't, but if they were going to have interns creating fake accounts, the best way to provide a cover would be to comment on other festivals, BONER!

Who was it that was saying Hangout almost had Outkast last year? It's not that I believe it or disbelieve it, just wondering where that came from.
A friend of mine heard from an employee that worked at The Hangout that they were in negotiations with Outkast. She was very sure of it according to him. I didn't believe it for a second, but I relayed the rumor in the 2013 thread. This was not the same outlet that we found out legitimate rumors for Hangout in the past from though. That was someone that works for Huka.
