Amazing show. Anyone else perched far back, for Pretty Lights, and able to see the 3D hologram effect in front of the stage, above the crowd? All the vids on Youtube are taken too close to see it. There were people in the crowd carrying 'stardards' - those sculptures on the ends of poles, above their heads, marching through the crowd. The bearer would start at the stage, on the right side when facing the stage, march backwards through the crowd, over to the left side before the first trees, and then back to the stage. The sculptures, it seemed to me, were integrated into the show projected above the stage.
I know this seems insane, it really blew my mind. But, I swear I've seen the same show at Which before (my 10th Roo), with the poles/sculptures being carried around the same circuit, matching the rectangular, box-like, green 3D hologram effect above.

Yeah I saw those hologram effects too. Reminded me of the old school Windows screensaver
Our group has bandied about a few different theories on what happened that night.
1.) The show took place on an identical Which Stage in an alternate universe. We went to see a show there the next day and it did NOT look the same at all. 2.) There was a spotlight on our group and no one else was at the show. 3.) The stage was converted into a castle. Everything else was dark.
This show was one of the best DJ sets I've ever seen. This wasn't about sick drops, one long segued set or anything like that. This was about a guy who understands music and sees it completely different than many other people in his genre.
Reminded me a LOT of DJ Shadow's late night set from a few years back. Excellent time was had at both of these sets.
That light show was a full-out ocular assault, and to the victor went our collection of heads. I had nothing more than a kernel of corn and a thimble of corn liquor. We were right by the trees, and it looked, at times, like they would be set ablaze. Plus the movement of the white lasers through the black sky was nothing unlike an Arizona meteor shower on time lapse. Bravo, PL, bravo.
(Oh, and I have no clue about the hologram dealy. Baddass if so.)
Pray for me. Just found out that in 24 hours I am seeing Pretty Lights twice (and for possibly 12 hours). Last week I bought tickets to his record release party at 10 pm at The Output in Brooklyn. And my friend just informed me that he won tickets to another show he's doing at 5 pm tomorrow at the Sirius XM station.
If I die. Know I lived.

Sad that I didn't stay up two extra hours to experience all of this. We saw most of Porter Robinson, half of AC, and went to PL before AC and my group wasn't feeling it. I got to experience his solar sailor remix live, though, which I love.
