What's up inforoo? I haven't seen a post about this show yet...but I hope everyone is as excited as I am!!!! I'll def be skipping out on most of Sir Paul to secure my spot for this
I never judge peoples musical taste but to skip Paul's set to get a "good spot" for Pretty Lights is insane. Pretty Lights has been a staple on the festival circuit for years now. He has been to Bonnaroo 3 out of the past 5 years I think. This will be Paul's first and probably only Bonnaroo appearance. But to each their own I guess....

I won't make a judgement on someone for wanting to leave the legendary Paul McCartney, who they may not care for, to see another show. The only criticism I would have in this choice is that Pretty Lights is a show that could be enjoyed just as well, if not better towards the middle or back of the crowd. I've never quite got the appeal of pitting for EDM shows.
I'll echo everyone else in here, and just add that Pretty Lights doesn't even go on until well after Wu Tang...so essentially you'd be camping out for Wu to get a spot for PL. To be honest, you could probably check out all of Sir Paul, hang around at Wu and keep moving up, and get a really good spot for PL regardless. I'd do that...don't miss Paul.

But PL is going to be out of control fun. I've seen Paul before, so I'm not too bummed about leaving his set a few songs in. Also, 36 Chambers is in constant rotation on our turntable at home, but I really love being in the pit at the Which..So I'll have to enjoy Wu from the pit line. So pumped for this.

I can't get myself to leave Paul early because I've never seen him and doubt I ever will again. But I have to say that every time I look at the schedule, half of me wants to get pit for Wu, though I think I'd want to move back at least a little bit for PL to get a better view of the lights and to feel more consumed in the crowd to get weird!!!! So, i probably won't be leaving Paul's set early, maybe a little, but I totally understand why you're doing it. Back to the proper topic, I'm soooooooooooo pumped for PL, i've seen him once before and his set lasted like four hours and for no apparent reason! so I can't wait to see him go all out att Roo!

Yeah, I bet the energy level will be intense in that pit. I think you could show up about 30-45 minutes before and get in easily. You could probably even pit for Wu and still get in for PL.

I've had experiences with the pit like that before........ But here is the thing.. Last year my girlfriend and I waited in line to see Skrillex for at least three hours, and even then we nearly got trampled. I mean, at one point we were so packed together that it felt like the wall was going to come down. No joke. Anyone who was in that line knows what I'm talking about. So, to avoid any rush like that again, I'll be there for a while to be up front.
I plan on having a good spot for PL. My favorite as far as EDM goes. I respect what Sir Paul and the Beatles did for music, and I like a few songs...but I don't really get into it.
I also was excited to see Wu Tang, so all the better. I will be seeing most of Paul..but start heading over to Which around 10:45.
I, too, plan on leaving Paul McCartney about a half hour early to make my way over to Wu-Tang/Pretty Lights. I saw Paul McCartney last summer at Yankees Stadium; I thought it was a great show but I'm just not much of a Beatles fan. I'm happy for those who are extremely excited about him playing Bonnaroo this year.
I didn't realize they overlapped. I just discovered Pretty Lights today and spent all day listening to them at work. If it sounds that good on headphones, the actual show for that kind of music should be amazing. Pretty Lights is one of the shows I'm most excited for now.

The sound at the Which has never bothered me...but I've never been too far from the stage. So maybe thats the reason. But seriously, if you want an all out dance party. This is the show to be at.

Actually, we have a Superjam that is literally called a "dance party."

Oh I am fully aware. And I will be there waiting during Mumford, resting up, and getting my mind right for what should be one of the greatest collaborations of all time. Hope to see ya there!
Pretty Lights should be a hell of a show. However, there is no way I'm going to miss McCartney who will more than likely end his set with Golden Slumbers -> Carry The Weight -> The End. Wouldn't miss that for the world.
I too am excited for Pretty LIghts. Skrillex was Awesome on the Which last year and even 1/2 way out the sound was VERY good IMO.
I think you could hear Skrillex from anywhere inside Centeroo. I can still remember ?uestlove's awkward glare towards Which during Superjam as Skrillex began.

There is a pretty (lights) good chance he plays till sunup so I would not rush or worry about conflicts. Just get over there when you can and you could still get a good 3 hours.
Also, my gf and a good amount of my friends like pit for EDM shows. Nothing like drinking a bunch of red bulls and not being able to move to the grooves.
