We get 15 min breaks every 2 hours. I've gotten the stink eye many times for going over that and being close to 20mins. Yet right now I just have a break and the chick was gone almost 40 mins. Explain to me how that flies!!?????! FORTY FUCKING MINUTES?! When she came back I was like "did you go to Nam or something?! You were gone almost 40 mins." An she proceeds to tell me all about how Panera had to make everything fresh for her bc everything she ordered was out.... Um, so you go somewhere else or wait till your next break and try again. You don't sit there for damn near an hour waiting on food.
But hey, today is my last day in this hell hole. So fuuuuckkkk iiitttttt. Piss me off today and catch my wrath.

Have you ever seen the movie Half Baked before?
Oh yes.
"FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. YOURE COOL. FUCK YOU IM OUT!" Is basically all that's going through my head.
And Cap'n Mac. You have a knack for finding gifs to sum up my life. That last one from the office in particular. Basically my exact attitude today. My mom just came up to my office (she works in the same building as me) and I spent 30 mins chatting with her and blatantly not answering phones. I'm so done.
So, after being told I had to work 34 hours in 2 days, I quit a week ago without working the rest of my notice. No way that I can provide safe or competent patient care like that. Even residents don't work those kinds of hours anymore. Anyway, now said psycho asshole boss is witholding my last paycheck just to screw around with me. But....I now have another provider and 2 more employees coming forward with information to the State Board. So, I might be living in a box under a bridge in a month or two but we are taking him down, and it is a good feeling to know that I did something right.
the downside is that I can't travel anywhere or go to any shows, or really do much at all, until I find another job. Can't afford to hire an attorney to fight this asshole for my paycheck or to not interfere with my ability to work locally as he has threatened to do. The upside is that another provider and two paramedics so far have come forward to the State Board, so there is an excellent chance of us getting this Dr. Dickhead put in his place, maybe even put out of business. So I have to allow that thought to sustain me.
I have to go to 6 different stores by next Friday to put coupons and confirm inventory on a product no one wants to buy. I decided to do 5 stores early in the week so I can take a few extra days off next week. Last night I get an email that I need to go back to all those stores and make an excel sheet with the expiration date per the vendor. Really? So I just drove 250 miles today to make an excel sheet. I'm now at my 6th location ready to finish up work for the week and my store decided to throw away all the product instead of discounting it. "No one is going to buy it anyways." What a waste of food and a waste of my time. I can't wait to get out of this place today. in 3 hours I'll be getting ready to go to a college town for the weekend. I'm going to drink like an underage teenage girl.

This past Friday was the last day for two people who had 28 and 34 years in with the organization. In case you were wondering, the time it took to go from "Man. It's sad that they're not around. I'm going to miss them." to "That chair looks awful comfy. I am going to make it mine. He's not using it anymore." was three days.
Been working at my new full-time job for a month now and just discovered I could listen to music. The girl I replaced never played music, so I just assumed it wasn't allowed. My boss made my week
The office is right next to the breakroom (with an open doorway), and I hate when I'm sitting in here and I hear other people having conversations completely in whispers. The conversation probably has nothing to do with me at all and I probably wouldn't care if it did, but pick another time or place to have that conversation. People absolutely have the right to a private conversation, but if you're going to exclude somebody for whatever reason, I feel like it's common courtesy to not make that exclusion obvious.
So as I leave work today, the assistant manager says to me "have a good week." I go to say "have a good weekend" and halfway through I remember today is Sunday. Then I just incoherently mumbled something.
The new shift is still screwing my mind up, but I got the next four days off. Which is nice, after I unloaded 443 firepits from a shipping container in under 3 hours.

I HATE whispering. It has always been a pet peeve of mine.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Since it's adjacent to your office with an open doorway, could they have just been having the conversation as quietly as possible as to not interfere with you working in your office? Whispers are bad and all, but I'll take that over people loudly talking about personal stuff while I am trying to work and make phone calls any day. I would also generally question the wisdom in your work situating the staff breakroom adjacent to the manager's office. That just seems like bad placement.

That moment when you tell your boss you're going to miss a webinar because you're going to California, and you respond to visit your girlfriend when she asks why without thinking about that she has no idea you're not married anymore because you don't talk about personal life stuff with her. Good times.

Haha I forgot I even posted that in here. Nah, the conversation was going back and forth between whispering and normal volume/laughter so they weren't just being courteous...and frankly I think work would be much more exciting if people shared their personal stuff at a high volume.
"Hey Bill, how's it hanging?" "OOOHH YOU KNOOOWW. GOT A COUPLE HEMORRHOIDS THAT HAVE TO GET REMOVED THIS WEEKEND. HOW ARE YOU?"

I love you Dave and everything, but that sentence was every bit as awkward as the situation it was describing.

Yeah. I wasn't happy with it, but I had invested too much time in it already to start over.

I shall have to whisper something to you, the next time I see you
I finally have a standing desk! Just moved all of my things into a different office, because I can do whatever I want. For five months that is.
We all have our tastes but that actually sounds horrible to me. I can walk/dance for hours, or I can sit. I can't stand. It actually makes me anxious. I hate both feet on the ground and my back starts hurting fast on top of it. My computer is set up on a thing I can raise to a standing desk in seconds, but I have never been tempted to even try it.

I would've paid to have seen the look on her face. She probably thought you lost your damn mind.

The CEO flew in to have me pitch him for the next two days in an attempt to sharpen my stick. I'm sort of terrified? I'm sure I am over reacting but its only natural.

I write to you from a walkstation. A treadmill with a keyboard, mouse and monitor. It's pretty nice. I try to get on it for at least an hour every day I'm in the office.
