When I delivered pizzas in Knoxville during grad school, I had a 60 year old lady offer to give me, ummm, oral sex, since she didn't have money for a tip. I've had nightmares about that proposition for awhile.
This wasn't me personally, but a former coworker who currently delivers pizza elsewhere nowadays.
My overall thoughts/experiences on the subject took 8-10 paragraphs over three comments.
Screw a repeat encounter, he should call them right away. Not sure they'd do much, but worth a shot. Poor thing
Have you ever personally had to report on something you saw that was out of sorts?
It's actually a she. Uncommon in the job, I know. Sounds like they're fairly regular customers, but the guy's daughter usually answers... and she gives the dog treats. No wonder puppy got excited.
I did get attacked by a trained German Shepherd once, though. I'm just going to copypasta my unabridged FB comment (part two of my rant) on that below.
I'm actually curious what kind of dog this was. I find that the smaller ones are more likely to attempt to bite. Napoleon complex or whatever. I think I've had 3 or 4 yip-yapping ankle biters make a try in my tours of duty, and they never even broke the denim of my jeans.
Conversely, I've only had one big dog go for it and HOLY CRAP. Some German Shepherd being held back by a teenage/young adult son broke free while his father was getting the pizza. Dog ran past the father and attacked me. That dog knew exactly what he was doing, too. Clamped his jaws around the outer side of my knee and started shaking his head - definitely a move to destabilize my footing. If that wasn't enough to suspect he was trained, it took both father and son to pull the dog off me - as they shouted commands at it in German.
Ruined pair of jeans, skin broken in a few places beneath that, some bleeding and swelling. The way I handled that was taking the father's immediate offer: $20 to replace jeans, $50 for silence, and a promise to pay medical bills if it came up. I just wanted to GTFO at that point, so I took him up on it. And absolutely second-guessed taking that approach afterwards.
And I think the only time I actually notified police about anything on pizza delivery duty was when my car got paintballed. Damn kids.

I once had a 20-something coworker invited to join in with a drunk couple his/our parents' age. I don't think I've ever seen someone so frightened over something that didn't threaten life or limb in my days on this earth. He refused to go to that address ever again.
And when I had to go there a week or two later, I can't say that I could blame him.

This entire thing is golden, but fast forward to about 1:15 for the relevant part. Don't do it at work without headphones though.

When my ex first bought the house that we moved into together, the next door neighbors had 3 pitbulls that they left constantly in above ground cages. One was pregnant and ended up having the litter in that cage. I am pretty sure they sold the puppies off, but every day it was heartbreaking to go into the backyard. I wanted to call the SPCA on them, but nobody could see those puppies in the backyard but us and it would be obvious that we called. My ex somehow convinced me not to call, but it was the worst three months ever. They got evicted by the landlord for some other drama. We moved into that house in 2009 and still to this day, I regret not calling about those dogs.

Notice how he didn't mention whether he refused or accepted the offer.
I basically hate my job, but I've been able to work from home for the past 4 years. After getting home from Roo this year, the first conversation with my boss was her telling me that all employees within our department that work from home would no longer be able to work from home and would need to work in the office.
This is the first week going into the office everyday. Needless to say, going into the office makes my job even more miserable and I have started looking for something new...

Potent probably has nightmares because she left teeth marks...

I refused. I didn't mention because I didn't want to mention my coworkers reaction.

What do you do for work? JR used to work from home a few days a week and I miss it! I can't complain though because his new job was a huge raise. I would plan all my errands around his days working at home whereas now I have to take the kids with me everywhere. First world problems, I know... (But I do miss kid-less grocery shopping).
This new job has sent him out of town a few times... (Vegas now, as you know)... Ready to have my partner in crime/parenting home!
Old ladies are by far the worst tippers of any demographic.
One of my coworkers has a whole system he uses to determine how much tip he is going to get before he even takes the table. It's kind of racist but I'll be damned if it isn't spot on.

as a delivery driver I could usually tell before knocking on the door.
They're updating the lock system in my building over the next few weeks. Currently we can use a code or an ID on doors from the outside and our code for our offices. Now it'll be card only everywhere and I will have to wear my card everyday (I rarely even touch my card now).
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

It was so overtly sexual I don't know how it could otherwise be taken. Nobody has 90% of the fun by touching their ID card to get into work. At least nobody I know.

As many of you have heard me talk about I have been working on this design build project for school since January. The intention was to design a agriculture support building on the Indian nation here using a newly invented building material that uses recycled steel dust and captures CO2. The project was to be funded by a USDA grant which was controlled by the inventor of the material. We were to do various required testing on the material and build construction prototypes as well as design the building during the spring and then construct it during the fall semester. A bunch of delays popped up throughout the semester (some avoidable others not so much) that delayed the design including a change of client, site, and use of the building and a lack of support from the inventor with materials to test and compensation for the materials we were buying. It was decided that some of the studio would have to work throughout the Summmer to complete material testing, design, and to go through the permitting process. The agreement was that we would be getting paid $10 a hour for 20 hours a week (worth noting that most of our peers that have been doing summer internships with real firms are making more like $12-15/hour and that we were going to have to put in way more than the 20 hours a week we were getting paid for), through the USDA grant, and that the materials we needed would be made available.
Lo and behold half way through the Summer we still weren't getting paid even though all of us had worked 60-80 hours and the inventor was holding up the process to get the contract signed and still hadn't gotten us more than a few small buckets of materials that we quickly used up. We met with our teacher (who was back for three days from canada where he is working on his own project for the summer) and decided that there was no way that we could finish everything we needed in the available time and have any chance of being able to begin construction in one month and thus no way to complete the project by december. It was decided that we should try to reframe the path forward and focus on the material testing and prototyping with the intention of the built project being completed later by another group and we informed the inventor of this opinion.
He responded today that he didn't think we should be compensated for our work basically accusing us of lying about the work we've done and trying to defraud the grant. He also said we were wasting our time with the things we were doing and should have been helping him with his side projects instead of doing what we have been doing. He has no respect for our time, money, knowledge, or anything. When we are trying to get materials to do large scale testing on slabs, bricks, panels, etc he resist because he needs the material to do water pots, sculptors, and who knows what else. For 8 months I and 4-5 other people have poured our souls not only into getting this project done but advancing his invention to a feasible building material and a feasible business and received nothing but resistance because he has no vision or focus. He has no understanding of the way the real world works and seems to not understand that a building permit and a structural engineers stamp of approval are both legally and ethically necessary for the project.
At this point I hope that we can just divorce ourselves from the project completely and have nothing more to do with him even if it means never seeing a cent for the work ive put in. I just hope either he isn't able to construct something or if he does nobody is inside when it collapses.

reading this had me fuming.
working with someone that's so blind to their potential/opportunities/seeing literally anything outside of what they have in their mind is beyond frustrating. especially when they're so in denial that they don't think you put any real work into it. sorry you're dealing with this - hopefully it'll help to better inform your future endeavors in terms of who to partner/work with or red flags of poor business opportunities. that's about the only bright side I can see at the moment.

As someone who works in grants/contracts administration, with a heavy emphasis in HR, my alarm bells are going off.
Who was awarded the grant (the school, a foundation, a human being)? Did you sign any HR paperwork at any time in this process? And do you have a copy?
Not being paid for your work is crap.
Obviously you can PM/text/email me if you'd prefer
