Definitely passion pit and jack Johnson. Passion pit just sounded horrible and jack Johnson couldn't remember the words to his own songs. I know it's been a while, but c'mon.

Gonna get burned for this but I was a little disappointed in Paul. Thought he was taking way to long between songs. I get that it's his style "here's a hit wrote about whatever" // play song // "thank you" // change guitars for a minute or two, but I thought it would have been nice to see him crank through a few more back to back at times.

I was in the pit for every show I saw at Which. No complaints from me over any sound issues. The Which stage can obviously have great sound when the powers that be see fit as Skrillex and Pretty Lights have proved.
I just dont like the Which Stage. I was underwhelmed by that stage all weekend.
I wasn't at the Which Stage for more than1 song for any set. Every time I wanted to give it another try I just said "f it" and left. Disappointed to miss PTM and a couple others, but that stage is so awful. Avoiding the Which and having Sonic Stage sets made my conflicts much easier to manage.

Of Monsters And Men - BONNAROO!! SHAME ON YOU for still F-ing up the sound on Which Stage. No one could hear a thing. I had to go see something else because it was impossible to even hear the girl sing. Still angry about this.
Wu-Tang Clan - I'm making a bold statement here. This was the worst thing I've seen at Bonnaroo in the 6 years I've attended. I'm sure there were worse, but this is the worst thing I've personally witnessed. They all talked over each other and it was nothing more than a hot mess. I was actually really excited to see this since this was the only hip-hop show I had planned all weekend.
Purity Ring - I love love love their album, and this was my Thurs show I was really looking forward to...but her vocals were so pitchy. The echoes only made it sound more off. Pretty disappointed with my expectations. I did love the glowing electronic drum thing.
Cat Power - Another highly anticipated show that disappointed. She sounded bad and basically had a "I don't want to really be here" attitude. Somehow, she also drained the energy from songs that were upbeat on her new album like "Cherokee." So weird

Interesting. I was pretty happy with the 37 songs that he played and I loved the banter. Part of the reason I loved the show so much was because Paul seemed so cool. But if you were looking for non stop songs, I could see why it would get frustrating.

I only saw one bad show in the 20+ I saw and that was Alt-J. They were boring and far too sleepy. They also need a lesson in how to construct a setlist properly

Cat Power started late and dragged through a boring version of The Greatest. Should have caught the last 15 minutes of Dirty Projectors before heading to Bjork.

Agreed, I thought Paul was very personable and his anecdotes really added to the joyous atmosphere.

I don't need all non-stop songs, cause I did like some of the banter, but it felt like every, single, song for 37 songs.
I also think Mike Birbiglia shouldn't have tried out his new material at Bonnaroo. He even said at the end that not all of it was really finished/polished yet. He was still funny, but Bonnaroo isn't the place to test new waters.
Wilco.... well really that was not a surprise They were pretty awful.
I'm a huge Wilco fan and tend to agree. I wouldn't say awful but it was definitely missing something.
I am not a fan. I've tried very hard to like them because I "should" like them, but I just can't get into them. So I sat through the whole show (only to get a good spot for Paul) and am definitely not a convert. I think the sound was not good where I was sitting, which didn't help.
Definitely passion pit and jack Johnson. Passion pit just sounded horrible and jack Johnson couldn't remember the words to his own songs. I know it's been a while, but c'mon.
The only reason I wasn't underwhelmed is because my expectations were so low to begin with. Did you really think Jack Johnson was going to be good after the massive Mumford let down? That show was doomed to fail from the start.
Haha very good point. I remember he messed up a lot in 08 so I thought maybe it was a fluke. I thought he would at least have some special guests come out or something. You pretty much know what you will get with jack. But with Mumford canceling, I thought they would have more than just jack/ALO up there.

This. I was super stoked about this after the schedule change, we got there early and waited a bit but I left after two songs. Where was the Coachella orchestra? talking all over each other, horrible timing for the talking over each other. very very disappointing. My buddy went with me and I didn't even finish saying lets go get a good spot for McCartney before he was up and on the move.
Cults was kinda underwhelming, but that may have been the whole Which Stage daytime crappiness thing.
Ugh. I forgot about that. I couldn't even catch a nap there. I will thank them for forcing me to Patric Watson, though. That was one of my better discoveries this weekend.

Walk the Moon, Matt & Kim and Billy Idol were all disappointments for me because of sound quality. I was really looking forward to all three, but could barely hear them.
Lumineers were disappointing. I fell asleep in their show because I was bored.

I have to agree that Wilco was the "most disappointing." They're an amazing live band, but their set was unusually sleepy and wasn't helped by a badly balanced setlist.
I didn't see many underwhelming shows, but I'd probably list Ariel Pink and Japandroids near the bottom.
Pretty much every hip hop act I saw that wasn't Action Bronson disappointed me in some way.
Wu-Tang was a mess (though Method Man and Ghostface at least made up for it at the Superjam)
The Superjam was cobbled together with spit and twine - only the injections of Solange and Redman into the proceedings gave it any pop.
Nas just sounded like typical big show Nas, which is to say underwhelming. He seemed happy at least.
Kendrick is incredibly talented, and can work a crowd pretty well, but has no sense of theatrics or stage presence.
More guys should Learn from Jay-Z and the GZA and bring an exceptional backing band and make it a memorable show. No one wants a guy with a Mac back there.
