Really enjoyed the Seth Meyers interview/performance. The way Kanye was talking, the Yeezus tour is done. Kinda makes me expect something completely different for Bonnaroo. I guess we'll know more when he plays the X-Games.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
What all songs were in that medley last night? I saw only a part of the performance, fell asleep and accidentally deleted it.
Hate Kanye West all you want, but anyone who can go from “Jesus Walks” to “Touch the Sky” to “Stronger” to “Heartless” to “All of the Lights” to “Mercy” to “Black Skinhead” is A-OK in my book. West appeared on night two of Late Night with Seth Meyers, and after discussing fatherhood and about the time he was on SNL with LeBron James back in 2007, he tore through his greatest hits, picking one song from all of his albums, minus Watch the Throne. (Man, Jay Z’s getting spurned all over late night.)

I have a bad feeling that conflicts will keep me from committing to the pit for this show. The lineup is too good.
Still, I'll at least be there for the pre-show, probably Vampire Weekend. I just hope there isn't anything truly heartbreaking on the Which or closing tents at the same time.
Wilco/Wu-Tang/Jim James/John McLaughlin/Conspirator was pretty rough last year.

Seeing as I'd never seen any of those acts come last year, this was one of the worst conflicts of I've ever had to deal with.

Very impressed by that Seth Myers performance. I've never been a big Kanye fan nor am I familiar with a lot of his material. Leaning towards catching his set now though.

Absolutely. I went with Wilco because id already skipped them at roo twice. Luckily saw jim james at forecastle. Conspirator is touring constantly but its unlikely i'll ever have anither chance to see wu-tang or mclaughlin. An incredible lineup could be made out of 30% of all the shows i've missed at bonnaroo.
Did Wilcos sound not seem low to everyone else? I was in the pit like and it just seemed a lot lower to me than everyone else's.
I can see that, honestly. I was about 1/2 way back on the left side, and I could hear it okay but it definitely could have been louder. During moments like the Via Chicago freakout or the Impossible Germany solo, it sounded good. But the soft songs were pretty damn soft.
I hope Vampire Weekend doesn't meet the same fate.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I find it funny that the same people who say they won't see Kanye because he's an asshole have no trouble being fans of Jack White or Jeff Tweedy.
That's come up a bit. Most people acknowledge that Jack White is an asshole and egotistical too. I just think those guys are not in the public eye as much as Kanye and also they didn't show up late to Roo specifically. If either of them were more well known for their egotistical comments and actions as well as "insulted" Bonnaroo I bet more people on here would complain.

This is a very interesting to discuss the similarities of the two.
I had a bunch of stuff written down but it all really comes down to; White comes of as an (egotistical) intellectual that who gets mad at assholes that don't understand his standards vs. Kanye comes off as an (egotistical) asshole who gets mad when people don't think he has intellectual standards/thoughts.
Jack is just sneaky about his comments on how great he is and Kanye is not.

The second part of the interview where he talks about designers not being boxed in is kind of what he was getting at in his rant at the Nassau show. I still need to elaborate on that stuff but haven't had the time. Anyway, that was the basis of it.....that he felt used by the companies for his name and not his actual artistic designs. The best way he put it was something like this:
"I love and am proud of everything I do as an artist. I love and am proud of College Dropout, of Late Registration, of Graduation, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, of Yeezus. I love and am proud of GOOD and the music we've made. I love and am proud of the Air Yeezy's (sneakers) that I designed.
So after I made the Yeezy's and they were popular and flying off the shelves I went to Nike and was like "Okay....so what's next" and they told me that was it. There was no "next".
How you gonna have me make College Dropout and then tell me I can't make Late Registration?"
Then he went on to talk about how it's impossible to frown if you have Yeezy's in your hand. It just can't happen. He was playing around with the crowd cuz this is when they were holding up their shoes and he eventually signed a few.

Do it!!!
You won't be disappointed. Again, I'm biased, but Kanye puts on a great and very fun show. I'd recommend him to anyone who is a fan of a performer who puts everything they can into their performance.

Unless there's some killer LN show that night that I need to be up close for, I'm at least gonna give Ye a bit of a chance.
Internally I'm freaking out that I won't get to see Kanye's performance.....and by see him I mean I'll just be watching people's backs the whole time. I'm vertically challenged (4'11) so I have to make sure I get to the stage super early.
