this is going to be my first roo and I'm volunteering. I really wanted to get a decent spot for VW and Kanye unfortunately Im stuck on my shift until 6pm on friday. I know I'll be a little out of luck for VW but I was wandering if I would still have an okay spot for Kanye if I headed straight to the stage at 6? Or should I focus on not trying to find a good spot for kanye and instead just try to get a good spot for a late night act?

Off at 6 you still beat Monae being done. Head to What, grab some food and shiz on the way and you will be A-OKAY. What is a MASSIVE elevated stage. That field seems so small right now in our heads but once there you be like holy quack. 4 hours before Kanye takes the stage you will be just fine in my opinion!

You shouldn't have any problem getting into the Kanye pit.

I'm planning on heading to the pit line with ~30 minutes left in VW's set. Previously I would of thought that wasn't nearly enough time, but a few people on here have led me to believe I will have a decent shot at getting in. Shit, didn't someone just walk into the McCartney pit last year at the last minute?
Semi-related, about how early before the show starts will they let the pit in? I'm assuming I'd have time to try and find my group before the show starts if I didn't get in the pit
I've said it before and I will say it again, you do not need to be in the pit line all day to get in the pit. Will there be a line for Kanye as soon as the gate opens? Yes, but it will be like 15 people long. I don't know how many the pit holds on each side but I would guess about 1500. So if you don't see 1500 in line you are good.
That early it won't matter what side you line up on.

I've found out over the years that the left side of the stage is the better choice. It's lower down. Less sun. And right by the bathrooms. I'll be there bright and early that Friday and I'm beyond excited.

I don't think he played it much on the Yeezus tour. He definitely didn't play it when I saw him in Miami. That's why I'm worried about it not being in the setlist
