Am I part of the uppity crew? I try to stay out of these personal beefs but man it really smells like meltdown in here. Nobody is going to come to your aid, saying "hey I'm a 19 year old adult, I shouldn't be held responsible for what I say because 19 year olds are stupid, right?!?!"

Anyway, it's almost game time kids. Let's make a serious effort to drown out any Kanye haters with vigorous cheers. Everytime they boo, we celebrate twice as loud. Psyched for this.
Two 12-year-old girls are being tried as adults for trying to kill their friend with a knife, but WhiteBoy McSlurs-a-lot over here doesn't think he should be held responsible for the words he chooses to broadcast over the internet for the whole wide world to see because "I'M ONLY 19!!!" Christ almighty
I really hope there aren't actually chode hoagies that will come to Kanye's set to boo him. There's tons of music on the farm that I can't stand. Just skip it.

Yeah I think there will only be one or two jokers, and they'll feel like total shit after the first time they boo because everyone around them will look at them sideways

There will inevitably be some drunk idiot who looks exactly like you'd expect throwing water bottles or a burrito at the stage. I'd also imagine security is going to pretty swiftly deal with them.

Naw, they'll be too drunk to care. There will be issues out in that crowd.
Its not a particularly interesting headliner choice unless you're still mad that he gave a crappy performance in '08.
I'm kind of curious what "interesting" means to you here? Unique? Popular? Because Kanye West, like him, hate him, or are indifferent, had one of the most commercially and critically successful albums of 2013. Yeezus is a pretty gnarly stage show, and it'd be just as interesting to see how he does it as roo as it was to see how Radiohead incorporated the moving screens from their tour at the time when they played in 2012. To me, the LEAST interesting think about Kanye at roo is that his past with the fest in 2008.

There's nothing to debate, man. You need to check that shit.
To be fair to him, I'm young, not black, and grew up in a community where the N-word is widely used to refer to a friend in much the same way as a middle-aged man would call his friend "my buddy". maybe this young man grew up in a similar situation.
When I travel and I refer to a friend as "my n.." or "that n..", I get a lot of looks, and sometimes questions, and I feel like it's only right to explain. I usually tell people that it's a part of my every day vocabulary because it was growing up, and nobody where I'm from, be them young, old, black, white, hispanic, male, or female ever saw it as a derogatory term.
P.S: I'm not opining on whether or not the use of the word is right or wrong, just trying to give some insight into why certain people from certain backgrounds use it, and why they don't mean any racism with it, and you shouldn't be offended, or upset by the use of it.

Think Yeezy will cover "Freak on a Leash"?

What, exactly, gives you the authority to tell someone what they should or should not be offended by?

Nothing. But I can write a post trying to explain why the word gets used, and hope that people that read it are less offended and/or angered by it.

The only problem with this though, is that the kind of people who just go to a set to mock the performer and ruin everyone else's good time, are the kind of people who feed off getting snide looks from others and will not be bothered in the least.
