I definitely see where you're coming from though about JW getting all the slack and Kanye getting none. I didn't understand JW's history when I got into Blunderbuss. So it made sense to defend JW and still think Kanye is a shmuck. But knowing what I do now about JW, it made it much easier for me to just ignore the negative shit about Kanye. At the end of the day, Kanye has like 25-30 songs that I really enjoy. That's a lot of songs for someone who is still relatively young. If I'm going to hate musicians because of their stupid conduct, I won't like anyone.

Yeah, Flanz, alot of women do use that word because unfortunately alot of women don't see the value in standing up for themselves or in engaging in behavior that tries to go against the sexist status quo. Third wave feminists took back the word "bitch" to regain control over an insult being used against them, much the same way African-Americans have reclaimed the n-word to take control away from Whites. Like I said, too many women are spineless and are not willing to go against the patriarchal society we live in because women value male favoritism (ya know, staying popular with the boys) over defending themselves and their fellow sisters. It's a shame really. Alot of women actually adopt very sexist views of themselves and have poor self-value.
The word is full of hate, it demonstrates the very nature of American society/culture still not wanting to deal with its very misogynistic attitude we have as women as second-class citizens. See, I truly don't understand how people can look at him talking about being the biggest rockstar on the planet as him being negative. He's cocky and thinks very highly of himself, which I think we've already established is a common trait in modern music's most memorable front men (talking 60's and later). And, to be fair, there's few who can make a case as strong as his, given his critical and fan acclaim, status as one of the best performers alive and so on.
Putting aside the issue that many see that claim as delusional rather than cocky, the reason it can be construed as negative to me is that talent is self-evident. A beautiful woman doesn't have to go around telling the world she is beautiful. People can see that. A great boss doesn't have to go around telling people what a wonderful leader they are, because he shows them. When someone spends more time talking about how talented they think they are then they do actually performing their said talent, it comes off as bizarre, pathetic, and over-compensating, IMO, not to mention it's just plain annoying. It detracts from the entire point. Someone can be cocky and self-assured without being narcissistic. It's the difference between Bill Clinton and Kim Jong.

Over the past several years, Bonnaroo was building a reputation for being welcoming of any great artist from any genre. Alice Cooper, R Kelly, Adele, jazz legends, bubu music, everything. Yet when Bonnaroo books someone who is widely considered to be the best in his genre (and even if you disagree, you have to concede that this is an opinion held by MANY), Kanye is not accepted. He's heckled, people spray paint fuck Kanye on portos, and chant fuck Kanye around Centeroo. That should be totally unacceptable for Bonnaroo fans. Diverse lineups and diverse audiences are what Bonnaroo is all about, and being appreciative of those lineups is what Bonnaroo fans are supposed to be about. But now we've found someone who, despite being acclaimed and accomplished, isn't welcome at Bonnaroo, and that's shameful.
I was so excited to see Kanye. I wanted the rants. I wanted the craziness. What I wanted even more was a zoned in, focused performance to prove why Kanye is great at what he does. Those moments did exist, though few and far between. Don't act like the 25 minute Runaway with the improvised auto tuned jam about him never being able to play the Super Bowl was awesome. It wasn't. Kanye had a bad attitude. Even when he was saying inspirational shit, it came off as aggressive and maniacal.
Yes. Seriously. The C-word can not be said around your family, your co-workers, loudly in public. All those places that the N-word can't be said. I realize that the N-word has much heavier historical baggage, but both are VERY offensive in the eyes of the average american. Just because one is 98% offensive and one is 99% offensive doesn't really change that they're at the top of the list, and the average woman will be just as offended that you called her a C-word as if you called a black person an N-word.
