Kanye don't give a fuck; if you bought a 120 dollar shirt you deserve to have your money taken.
I understand that, I'm saying everyday probably her as well, particpate and complain about rich/poor. Then they go to their jobs, and they buy durable goods, and every single day the exploit X% of the population below them. Every single day. I'm saying it is crazy to think any of this is unique to Kanye.
I'm not a good capitalist. See I work with the poor and the disenfranchised and have done so for my entire career. My consumption as well as that of my children tends to be much more aware than your average consumer. People have the right to buy and spend as they see fit. But in my eyes capitalism does not have to be mercenary. Am I saying people should not make money? Of course not, but I will continue to call hypocrisy when I see it.
I think the hip-hop t-shirt is a $120 t-shirt. The concept and costs of the fashion line, teaming with a designer, Kanye's own involvement, the design/redesign process, and promotion, all drive up the cost of the shirt. Consider how Kanye tortures himself over seeing his vision come to fruition. I don't see it as Kanye trying to exploit his fans for money. I see it as an artistic idea run amok. It's just too bad that all this energy was spent on something as mundane as what most see as a throw away under garment. What it means for the consumer is a lot like eating a steak dinner. You can make a dinner for two at home for under $40 or you can go out to a steak house, with a pro chef & staff and spend about $200.
I would never spend that money on any shirt, let alone a white tee. I roll my eyes at the $20 white tees at Macy's. Most people, blogs, etc. have given the product a lot of flack and I'm sure his boys dogged him for it. But, in the end, Kanye had the last laugh, because the b*tch is sold out.
Just bought Tickets to see him and Kendrick together in Columbus. Been waiting nearly a decade and I finally get to see him! He is without a doubt my number one pick to headline. Seeing videos from his show at Coachella a few years back, that might be the best concert I have ever seen video of.
I saw him at Governor's Ball this year in NYC and he was awesome. He was clearly trying some stuff out for this tour, and if so it's going to be a spectacle. But in the best way possible.

With these ticket prices it doesn't look like he sold out many, if any, dates. I think I'm still gonna hit this, but I'm waiting to scoop up tickets from stubhub the week before.

Getting me even more excited then I was and I didn't think that was possible. I have been wanting to see him since I first heard "Through the Wire" and went and bought College Dropout (Which to this day is still my favorite rap album ever made) as a Freshman in High school. With it being his first solo tour in 5 years I expect it to be nothing short of spectacular. Also getting to see him will soften the blow for me when he probably won't be on the lineup for Bonnaroo this year. lol
Looks like he's playing Vancouver while I'm there visiting a friend. We're going to see Thee Oh Sees the Wednesday before Kanye. Might have to make this happen.

Ditto! We all know he's an a-hole but he's effing talented and I hope they book him.
I was in the pit for that '08 show (and the however many hours between PJ and the start) and I absolutely was, and still am, one of the biggest haters because of that incident. But at this point, I honestly don't care if they book him again. I most likely wouldn't be at his set but I don't think that means all of you who want to see him shouldn't. I honestly think it'd take a lot of money and a bit of convincing to get him to come back though. Both sides were pretty furious but he spoke publicly about "never returning" so he might be the one who seems like the sellout if he returns. The one thing I really fear is a trademark Kanye rant onstage about the '08 incident. In that case, I fully support the big poppa Capp pulling the plug and displaying the Robert Randolph "Kanye sucks!" YouTube videos on the big screens
p.s. That stage setup is impressive but if the '08 lunar landing setup caused a ton of issues, I can't even begin to imagine what would be involved in getting that shit on stage.

I have never been more excited for a show in my life. I have been waiting for weeks just to see a setlist and videos from his first show of the tour just to get an idea of what to expect. I did not expect the Setlist to be that big. So excited.
Well the show I was supposed to attend friday in Columbus got canceled and will not be rescheduled. Major let down. Now it is imperative that Kanye be at Bonnaroo!!!!! It will be my only chance to see him!! And was someone really arguing that Kanye wouldn't be a headliner? Yeezus Christ what is the world coming to. Dude is huge whether you like him or not. I would challenge anyone to watch his full set at Coachella when he headlined and try to tell me that dude isn't a headliner.
