I'd honestly rather have Jack Johnson again, or Mumford in that spot. I'm not being sarcastic at all either. Kanye's an arrogant, immature man-child who screwed up his own set at roo in 2008, disapointing his fans, and blamed it on ac/superfly. I highly doubt they would want him to headline, considering how important of a spot the headlining position is. I'd still go even if he did headline and would use the time he is playing to sleep/eat/get a good spot for late night, but it would be disapointing that that spot was wasted. I also think that Kanye as a headlinber is debatable, he might be top 10, not top 3. He would be better suited to a late night which.
Personally , I hate Kanye with a passion, and perhaps that could blur my judgement a bit, however considering his history with the fest, i doubt that ac/superfly would consider him a possibility.
I mean isn't being unforgiving against roo's "hippy code" and all?
I'm gonna need you to go ahead and redirect that passion toward something more deserving. A passion for hate is such a waste of energy.
Also, have you not heard? Kanye is officially a God. The declaration has been made and there's no turning back.
Let me defend myself. yes, Kanye headlined Governors Ball, but headlining governors ball =/= headlining roo. By that same logic Guns n Roses could also headline roo, which i see as highly unlikely, unless the whole band gets back together, Slash included. This of course is about as likely as Daft Punk joining the blue collar comedy group (Larry the cable guy, Jeff Foxworthy, etc.). Also, yeah he headlined Coach, but they also had the stone roses as a headliner this year, i just feel that bonnaroo is the stronger the festival in terms of names. Personally , I hate Kanye with a passion, and perhaps that could blur my judgement a bit, however considering his history with the fest, i doubt that ac/superfly would consider him a possibility. Also why the hostility to skipping Kanye for rest/food/good spot for late night? I recall many on this board saying they would do the same this year for Mumford without being crucified.
Well, Kings of Leon headlined Gov Ball, haven't they headlined Roo before? But that wasn't my logic at all, it was that he headlined Coachella, a festival that is wildly popular and sells out two weekends a year, and it probably could have pulled off the same trick a year earlier in 2011 with Kanye (they first went for seconds in 2012). Roo couldn't do that, and that's coming from someone that loves the fest and has been to multiple Roos without ever going to Coachella.
What I'm trying to say is, why is it that most bands or artists can be ridiculed, but when you speak ill of kanye, people get up in arms? Why is he untouchable?

You people are insane, Kanye is a talentless hack, that is why he was booed off stage at Bonnaroo in 2008. He has poor flow, a disjointed style and poor rhyming technique, especially live. Who cares about his politics he is a bad musician

Disliking Mumfords music is one thing, personally hating Kanye based on a bunch of trumped up hippy rumors and tabloid BS is something different.

Pop quiz: name a living artist that had won more Grammys than Kanye.

That's not even the main reason why i hate him, the whole roo 2008 thing is just a part of why i dislike him so much. The way he acts is public and the arrogance he has just makes me loathe him. I get that a lot of people, particularly on this board love him, to me he is just an annoying pop musician.

Oh, you know him personally? Did he date your sister or something? Did you verify that every artist you saw this year was an Eagle Scout before the show?

No, I have not met him, meeting him is not a requirement to not like him. I've never met Stalin, does that mean I should think he's a good person?

Stalin killed lots of people. Kanye was rude to Taylor Swift. If that's equal in your book I don't know what to tell you. I bet you find Charlie Sheen cheeky and hilarious.
You know what, I'm free to my own opinion, and you are free to yours. I don't go after the people bashing Mumford or Kings of Leon, but when someone bashes Kanye, then the heretic must be burned I suppose. And yes, those are some of my favorite bands, not all of them, when i posted my introduction on this forum i didn't list everyone, i just put some artists.

I'm aware of the difference, Stalin was a mass-murder and kanye is a rapper. I know Kanye didn't kill anyone, but i was referring to the idea that i can't hate someone without knowing them

Wait, are you the victim because people ( not me) say mean things about your favorite bands, or are we free to hate people willy nilly for arbitrary reasons?

I am not a victim, you may feel free to make fun of any bands, even mine. Some people talk trash about bands I like, and I just brush it off.
Also the whole "out of your element", what is meant? Are you saying I don't belong on Inforoo because i despise Kanye?

He HEADLINED Coachella, which at this point probably carries a higher social standing and relevance than headlining Bonnaroo.
He coheadlined with the Strokes (at least they were billed that way). And Phoenix, Blur, Portishead (until they had to book Prince), Stone Roses, the Killers, and Bjork were all headliners at Coachella. Bonnaroo has bigger headliners (save for WSP and Phil Lesh) since 2006.
And Kanye would headline if he played Bonnaroo.

It's because generally most of the bands that people ridicule on here aren't very good. Kanye is.
I've been to roo 3 times and still don't have a full understanding of what happened with him. Someone care to explain?
From what I have gathered, someone correct me if I am wrong, it goes like this. He was originally scheduled to close out Which, but sometime late in the process (maybe even the day of?) asked to be moved later so that the light show he had prepared would be more effective. So, they moved him to What after the headliner...however, he didn't actually perform until much later than his rescheduled time (something like 4am).
