Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
And I bet Capps lies awake at night freaking out that he has never booked the Killers, Portishead, Muse, the Stone Roses, or Phoenix as a headliner.
I'll take Phish over any of those.
Ever been to Coachella Drew?
I went in 2010. Am going again next year (hopefully, this year did not work out).
I have nothing against Coachella. It's an amazing experience. Some parts of it I find superior to Bonnaroo (rarity of the acts, scenery, occasionally superior acts depending on the year) while other parts I think Bonnaroo wins on (late night, unopposed headliners, the crowd, and style of music - I'd rather see rock, blues, jam, bluegrass, etc. than flavor-of-the-month indie and electronic).

Ahhhh....the old Coachella .vs. Bonnaroo debate. Funny how it intersects with the "Should Kanye play Roo" debate. Let's hope they don't make some kind of super argument baby.

Too late! I expect this thing to be at least 10 pages by the time I come back in a couple hours.
No, not really. You're the one that singled out Phish and DMB.
I get it, though. Phish is a jam band so it's cool to make fun of them and pretend they're not popular, a big draw, or good...right?
I've seen Phish more times than all the other bands we're discussing, which is exactly why I don't think they make a great festival headliner.
Same here, and I'd still rather see them than most of the bands we're discussing. And I disagree about the festival headliner. About a dozen of my friends have been turned onto Phish because of their 2009 or 2012 performance (and a couple more that saw them at Outside Lands). I think it's probably the most accessible and best way to get into them. To each his own. I understand your point of view, I just strongly disagree. And most of my friends who weren't into Phish before think they're one of the better headliners in recent years (Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Bruce, and Paul being the only ones my group has preferred since 2009).

I think that's about where Phish would fall on my list too, which says more about the other headliners than the awesomeness of Phish IMO.
Why are you applauding the business acumen of booking bands who play everywhere all the time? If I ran a festival I'd look for something that offered an experience that was at lease colorably unique.
I'm not, really. But as I said above, it is a great way to get people into Phish. All of my friends at Bonnaroo that hadn't seen Phish prior because fans after seeing them in 2009 or 2012.
And it's not like Coachella only books exclusive acts that are "colorably unique." RHCP, Black Keys, Phoenix, Jay-Z, Muse, and the Killers aren't exactly rarities to see live.

Radiohead, Paul, Kanye, and Arcade Fire are the only acts I'd rather see from Coachella in those years. So they're batting about the same for me.
And I'd typically rather see Phish than Kanye, I've just never seen Kanye and would like to.
My main argument isn't that Bonnaroo is superior or has the better headliners, just that it's not as titled toward Coachella as people here make it out to be.

I will say that I was one of the idiots that sat there till 5 in the morning waiting for him and I would not go see him again if he was at roo. That being said, I think he will be back, I think he will be a friday of sat headliner next year. I think I will have and excuse to drink at camp and get ready for the late night sets.
"At least half" leaves room for Roos to be better.
1- Learn to quote (it's the button that says "quote") 2- Get an avatar (I don't like debating things with the internet equivalent of putting a sheet over your head on Halloween). 3- Yes, at least half of the undercard is shared by the two fests (or thereabouts). This means that the headliners (which you hopefully would admit are not clear-cut in Bonnaroo's favor) and the remaining undercard is what decides it. If you bothered to look at a lineup and actually pull some examples I might pass out from the shock, but there's a little hint to make your points seem more like an objective observation instead of a biased "pssh my festy is the besty *sticks tongue out*" comment.
Way to attack me with comments that have nothing to do with what we were talking about. I'm not trying to make my observation objective, it's just my opinion, that's all. Take it easy, brother.
this board is a joke, just like Kanye. It aint gonna happen. the only people that say Kanye will for sure be back to Roo were in middle school in 08 and have no idea what went on. You all were not there, so quit trying to tell people who were what you think went on. Kanye didnt start until 5 am. btw. and it wasnt Bob Weir, it was Phil Lesh that was going to play 3 sets and not the 2 that he had to play because Kanye refused to play when anyone else was playing. Also he was late because his black ass was clubbin in ATL until he took his helicopter to Roo when he felt like playing. YOU ALL ARE STUPID.(Well the ones that want Kanye and defend him) quit commenting on things that you have NO IDEA about. dumbasses
it has nothing to do with Jambands either. i like the variety since they went away from that in 06. this is about Kanye West being the biggest P. O. S. on the planet

We're stupid, but you referred to Kanye's "black ass" in a way that makes it seem like you find that sort of reference acceptable.
And multiple people commenting on the topic were present.

What's it like going through life dumb and racist? Does that limit your employment opportunities at all?
