I hope he doesn't come....however if he does that won't stop me from being at roo.
i skipped paul this year. why? because i don't like his music......
Not calling you out for not like Paul (even though I find that a little crazy), did you at least catch a couple songs to verify it was what you were expecting? I skip headliner sets fairly often, but usually catch a couple songs before going to take a nap or whatever.
this board is a joke, just like Kanye. It aint gonna happen.
the only people that say Kanye will for sure be back to Roo were in middle school in 08 and have no idea what went on. You all were not there, so quit trying to tell people who were what you think went on.
I was there. I had a good time. Was disappointed in how things turned out but really want him back as a headliner. His show would be awesome.
this is about Kanye West being the biggest P. O. S. on the planet

It's up to the promoters & the act. If both parties are over any 2008 animosity, or if the potential money outweighs any lingering animosity, Kanye West could certainly headline next year. It will have been 6 years since '08 at that point. Plenty of time for lots of water to flow beneath the bridges. There are always going to be people who, for whatever reasons, dislike West so much that they'll oppose it (and concoct or repeat wacky conspiracy theories to justify themselves). There are probably those who like West so much that they've taken the opposite stance and think 2008 was a big conspiracy to "get" Kanye West.
The middle ground is much bigger than those two extreme poles. If the promoters want him back & offer headliner slot/money (only place for West to play at this point), I reckon he'd play. He was very good when I saw him in 2005 and his shows have been largely well-reviewed since. If it happens, it will be a good show. Fortunately for those that wouldn't care to see it, attendance would not be mandatory.

Kanye didnt start until 5 am. btw. and it wasnt Bob Weir, it was Phil Lesh that was going to play 3 sets and not the 2 that he had to play because Kanye refused to play when anyone else was playing. Also he was late because his black ass was clubbin in ATL until he took his helicopter to Roo when he felt like playing. YOU ALL ARE STUPID.(Well the ones that want Kanye and defend him) quit commenting on things that you have NO IDEA about. dumbasses
it has nothing to do with Jambands either. i like the variety since they went away from that in 06. this is about Kanye West being the biggest P. O. S. on the planet
I love how you continually act like you're this old, wise sage when you're 28 and therefore younger than many people posting in this thread and on this board. I also like that you're pretty obviously harboring some skin-tone based resentment towards Mssr. West. Nice.
Also, the "Kanye was late because he was clubbing in ATL" has been demonstrated to be false. He performed earlier that night at a show in Atlanta (around 8 or so) and then took a private jet and helicopter to the farm. I'm serious, you can find news articles about this. He was on the premises at the time he should have been.
i have been following this thread and I was not there in '08. I think you are the first to say he was actually on the premises during this time. Can you elaborate on what stopped him from taking the stage? Was he just wanting to play un-opposed? Truly curious
- Jesus Walks is super overrated. I love that song and everything, but saying its Ye's best song is just super super weird to me. - I've never really liked Monster or Hey Mama but still feel like neither should be on the list, especially when it ignores so many other classics. - Is Heartless really better than Love Lockdown, and are either of them really better than Say You Will? - I know that CoS is CoS but I still wanna talk about this. I know you can't put every song he's ever done on this list but I have no idea how you leave off things like Good Life, Heard Em Say, Touch The Sky. Seems real fucked. Thinking I might try and make my own Kanye top 20. You guys should too.

I haven't read the list as I'm still at work, but I love Hey Mama and Monster. I'd certainly put Hey Mama in there. That song is one of the better looks into who Kanye really is. When you sit back and look at the type of artist he has become, it makes it even better.
20. Love Lockdown 19. Jesus Walks 18. Good Life 17. Blood On The Leaves 16. Dark Fantasy 15. Niggas In Paris 14. Slow Jamz 13. Say You Will 12. Runaway 11. Diamonds 10. All Of The Lights 9. New Slaves 8. Gold Digger 7. Homecoming 6. Family Business 5. Heard Em Say 4. Stronger 3. All Falls Down 2. Touch The Sky 1. Power
There's a rough list. Keep in mind this isn't my 20 favorites, just a better objective 'Best of Kanye' list. My favorite list would have waaaaaaay Guilt Trip & We Major. Anyway I still want everyone (read: mostly Juggs & Flanz) to do their lists.

I'm going to be super biased because Gold Digger is the first rap song that made me change my "Lol rap sucks I'm only going to listen to Taking Back Sunday and Saves the Day" stance as a 17 year-old, but most of the songs ranked ahead of it are not better.
Say You Will is definitely better than the 808s tracks listed, jackson.
I like the original Diamonds better than the remix.
Any site that has a list that makes you go through a slideshow is dumb.
Edit: Oops didn't see yours. Yeah I like yours better.

I'm not Juggs or Flanz, but I still found this interesting. These are my 20 favorites, so I did mine a bit different than yours.

Also: Mods, do I get a set of steak knives for 1,000 posts? Or do I need to get to big boy posting levels before that prize?
Another year another stupid pissing match about Kanye. You fanboys need to give it up, he isn't coming back.
Based on what?
I wasn't there to experience it but what I've read on it I doubt he'd want to come back even if he was asked to. He had some pretty bitter feelings after it!

Haha oh, you. You think Kanye cares? The only people who still harbor ill will over that are people who were at the fest, AC/Superfly and Kanye are both in the business of making money and Kanye headlining Roo would accomplish that goal for both of them.
I think the only way Kanye steps on the farm again is if jay z is there ironing out the bumps and they do a watch the throne set with large solo gaps I'm all for.
I missed in 2010 and have never seen jay z but I assume he is decent live. I was however waiting for Kanye with the rest of ya 08 and still reserve a few "Fuck Kanye" 's for if he does ever make another appearance. Buuuut when watch the throne starts I'm jumping up n down because its provocative, it just gets the people goin!!!!
Letter to Kanye Prior to 2014 Roo appearance .
Hey Kanye,
Hows everything going? Kim and the kids doing well? I hear your coming to Bonnaroo this with year with Jay Z. That's great! I can't wait and I am sure the two of you will do a stupendous job on main stage. There are a few things we need to go over before everyone's favorite weekend in June.
Lets cut to the chase Yeezy, I was there in 2008. Remember? Special main stage set? Late night? Sunrise sets are always a good time in my book but not if you have been waiting over an hour for the start and had other artists to see that night.
Years have past and Jigga is here so it will be a great time. But take a few layers off the ego and don't play anything from 808's.
