the bogart thing made no sense, and while NBF brought up some good points I'm not sure about this one either. as mentioned I would think the whack would be aimed at the most likely inspector- need to look back at NBF's posts, but I don't remember anything jumping out as necessarily steering or influencing votes...
linana , ah your right. I was thinking of snakeface. Ok this whack might make more sense then. I'll have to go back a re read snakefaces post and see if I can pull anything out of them.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
Im at forecastle and cant really say much but i wanted to make sure i got a vote in.
the only thing at this point that REALLY stands out at me right now is how Mike D is surviving the whacks. I have a feeling i may have made a huge mistake in the first round saving him. either mike d is mafia, or the mafia are risking it letting him get this far
for now im putting my vote on mike. Ill check back in and see what everyone else has to say. and if someone could dig through NBFs posts that would be great, cant really do that right now.

this vote is NOT locked in
Phi >>> Mike D
I wondered about that too... but I don't think it's a definitive sign. the mafia could be leaving Mike alive simply to deflect suspicion...
or Mike could be mafia. I feel like the vote switch with him and linana that I questioned earlier was never explained. IIRC the only response was from linana and it was just that anyone who thought she and Mike were "in cahoots" was mafia.
O'neil, I'm not sure how to explain that vote switch. It seems like Mike has been after me from almost the beginning of this game. If I understand the game correctly, mafia distancing would come later in the game, wouldn't it? If we were mafia together, why would he bring so much attention to me in round one? He's the main reason anyone has been suspicious of me the whole game. I've never played this game as mafia, but I wouldn't think that would be very smart strategy.
As far as the vote switch, I guess we just both decided to stop pointing fingers at each other for a minute in order to try & help root out some mafia. I never decided I wasn't suspicious of Mike on some level, but at the time he and some others sort of convinced me it would help the town more if we put new people in the runoff. I thought with Mike out of the runoff that we might get some great revelation from him. Now I'm not sure what to think.
I'm not ready to vote yet. I'm on mobile so its hard to go back and read, and my hand is hurting from typing this long ass post. And I can't remember who all is still playing. Be back tomorrow.

Im sorry but thats simply not true. After talking to really good mafia players its not unusual for them to go after each other from day 1. The vote changing that conveniently takes one of you out of the runoff really doesn't help your case either.
Tejas > Linana
I'm kinda hoping if inspector is still alive he/she would have guessed MikeD or Linana names if he wasnt given their name.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
Ref's notes: It's so different to watch these games when you're the ref. You already know who is what, and how well (or badly) people are playing. It's pretty interesting. I probably can't say much more than that though.
I've skimmed back over NBF's posts. She was fairly quiet in the beginning. The only things that really stand out to me are her suspicion of SF, and her calling out Ody for his null vote in the last round. Perhaps her whack was retaliation for SF being voted out?
At this point, I'm fairly suspicious that SF really was mafia. Ody has been pretty quiet this whole game, as was SF. And looking back, I can't see anywhere that Ody expressed any suspicion of SF, even though everyone else (who is still in the game) did at some point. Just based on the last couple rounds, and my gut feeling, I think there is a good chance that Ody, SF, and Mike could be our 3 mafia.
So. Mike already has 2 votes. I would be interested to see how a runoff between Mike and Ody turns out.
Usually, at least one of the mafia members is really quiet, and snakeface has definitely been quiet. I don't know. I could see changing my vote, but I'm worried that I don't really have a good feel for anybody.
doesn't raise any red flags to me, so I wonder why she was whacked... I think we may still have 3 mafia left. yes SF was quiet, but I am starting to think that even a new player would have defended themselves with coaching from fellow mafia. SF seemed to basically just give up.
ody seems town to me, just because again, being quiet would be a risky move for mafia this game with as much focus on quiet players as there has been. but, he has posted more recently so who knows.
still waiting for everyone else to chime in (ody, Mike, ella) and see what happens with voting

Linana >>> Ody
Poor justification. Top of page 4 I was the first to quote SF and call him out when he voted for Jimmy solely because he was "being to vocal."
Quoting this for later. Just seems like an odd justification to me.
I also mentioned on the last page that because SF had remained so quiet it almost made me feel like I should change my vote off of you, but I did not end up doing so, as it was pretty obvious SF was going to be done.
Also, the two people that had votes on you to go into the runoff (Snakeface and myself), found themselves as the ONLY two people in a runoff for a little while there, until you joined us. I find that very odd.
Last weekend I was quiet because I was busy. This weekend, it was by design to sit back and wait to see reaction after the whack. I will go into further depth on my theory after I eat dinner, but I believe Mafia is Mike D, Phi, and Linana. This is based on the idea that Mafia try to take out the inspector with each whack. Votes of the last two whacks:
Round 1) Bogart: Linana >>> Mike D NBF: Ody >> Mike D

I think you may be on to something here. From everything I was hearing about Mike D's play style, I gathered that after the first round or so he was someone that was incredibly helpful and usually had this thing cracked. I suppose that I took that as he was very contributory to the game so I was glad at first that he was saved in the double runoff on the first day. However, I have been kind of let down that he hasn't been talking much, and he has taken on more of a singular attitude toward his replies. This has also made me become incredibly suspicious of him, especially at the point that we are at.
Linana is also blipping my radar, because of her voting patterns. I don't think having a "woe is me" attitude as she did in the beginning specifically pegs her mafia, just a person in their second game that came off of a rough set up in their first. The calling out everyone that disagrees with her points as mafia 'stirring the pot' does look shady, but I think when looking at a mafia configuration containing her, Mike D and another regular player, there has to be someone posted up to look the most mafia-like so that the others can ride the background. On the flipside, if Linana is not mafia, the voting patterns may also indicate further setup; but don't quote me on that one because I do need to go back and see who has done what to whom first.
Now Ody, I am interested to know what Phi has done other than a vote change that makes you believe he is the third. Thankfully I've seen more from him this game than last (because so help me Phi if you are town and I get stuck trying to find the third mafia with you this time and you hang me out to dry again I will hunt you down) but I haven't seen enough to discern any role. Plus, I'm not entirely sold that SF was not mafia. O'neil makes a valid point about the coaching, but it could very well be that SF just did not want any part of this after getting their role and having a little pressure put on them so they ignored messages. I have a possible on who I believe a third may be if three mafia still remain, but I would rather not give it up until I've reread and feel more confident in my argument.

Phi is the weakest link in the theory. I would say half of it is the vote change that saved Mike D. The other comes from NBF voting for him in the second round. I'm not completely convinced that SF was mafia, although it could be the case. There's just no way to know really because he gave us so little to work with. Anyway if NBF voted for Mike D in the first round and comes out and hits another mafia right off the bat in the second round, that'd be pretty concerning if I was mafia.

My vote on Mike D is locked in. I wont be changing.
Does this help your theory that we're mafia Ody? Lol
Sorry I cant post more. Currently driving back from Louisville.
You guys are cute. I have a great idea though, let's continue to vote the same three folks we have been all game!! No need to question anyone else really. I do have to say I am somewhat honored cause I don't think I have ever seen the same player be lined up for a third runoff in a row.
So I am mafia because I keep surviving? Really?? You're serious? I would like to say you can come up with a better reason than that, but you really don't have to with how everyone else is playing. If you honestly think that, you need to do a little bit of digging on when that argument has been used in the past. I will even give you a hint, it is used to easily target more experienced players to get them voted off without any real reason. Look at some of the older games, specifically involving SFA. The same thing happened - the mafia keeps him around as a quazzi-easy target cause who would want to let him live??
A very serious question/challenge for yall - Besides the fact that I am alive in the game, why do you think I am mafia?
And you think I am mafia with Linanna? I seriously laughed out loud here when I read that. Have you read the game? Have you looked at the votes? And you honestly think that?
nothing yet from Mike D? maybe a sign of mafia trying to figure out how to spin things?
O'neil, come on. If I was mafia, why would I need more time to do anything? Think about this for a minute . . . . If you think I am mafia and need more time, you are mistaken. If I was mafia, I would have known the kill, I would have known who I was going to go after the next round, I wouldn't need time for that.
The one thing that is coming up among having the same people in the runoff, especially since we likely have 1, maybe 2 mafia in the 3 person ones, are the way votes are being swayed and who is causing it. The seemingly innocent votes that are being cast that end up saving one another or shifting the way the runoff whittles down are starting to create what looks like patterns. Mike D and Linana both had votes that seemingly "saved" one another, but there are also some interesting shifts from early on that I caught on the reread. Now, I will have to go back to create some quote based evidence on this, but I believe it is quite possible that Tejas is the third if there are three mafia left, or that Tejas and Linana may be connected and using Mike D as a front.
Tejas falls under one of my earlier claims, that frequent vote changes early on often indicate mafia, and on Day 1 he shuffled his vote several times. There have also been comments that look supportive and buddyish from Linana after Tejas posts a thought out reply (which is odd to begin with. I've seen Tejas as both town and mafia with an across the board play style, and this time his style is very different, making him incredibly difficult to read). The argument he posted calling out Mike D as well as the response back both feel a little forced, as well as all of the distancing talk. Linana had asked about distancing being a later in the game technique and Tejas told her that that was incorrect, but in an exchange with jimmy I believe ?? he had mentioned that early on distancing was something he would think the veteran players would know better than to do--confirming what Linana said.
Like I said, I can come back with quotes later, I'm just a little pressed for time at the moment. Because I don't want to place a third vote on either Mike D or Linana at the moment, I am going to go with my third suspicion, and would like to hear some different perspective on this because I know this game has the propensity to suck us in and make connections that are simply too far fetched. I really may not be seeing the forest for the trees right now.

Phi, come on. You think Mafia can't vote for mafia or something? So no, just because you locked in a vote it doesn't change anything.
A very serious question/challenge for yall - Besides the fact that I am alive in the game, why do you think I am mafia?
My theory was not based at all on the fact that you are alive, but that someone saved you at a very opportune time in a runoff, and people who have voted for you ended up being whacked.

This is a very interesting theory, and Tejas as avoided a lot of heat so far in the game. I say Phi and Tejas in a runoff could be good. Two that haven't had the pressure put squarely on them, see what happens with votes.

like I said, I was waiting on Mike to post... and yes, when you read his argument it seems to make sense, but I just can't shake my suspicion. however, the person I suspected as being a third was Tejas, due to some of his posts. I am at work and will need to go back and read later, but I would not mind seeing Tejas in the runoff.
not changing my vote at the moment but not locked in either.
1. I feel like we will still be playing this game at Christmas.
2. starting to doubt my Mike D- linana- Tejas theory, would like some more input/insight. if Mike is mafia he's pretty good at twisting. which is only logical I suppose...
O'neil - take a look at when I have voted for Linana. You keep bring up our vote exchange, but do you realize when I have voted for her . . . to get her voted out last round, not Snakeface. Take a look at the final tally's. The last vote was up to Phi, he voted Snake over Linana, saving her in another sense, yet you have paired up with him this round trying to pin me with it? I also think it's a little shady how Phi saved me, but is coming around again to try to get me voted off for still being in the game. Between these two and Tejas, i'd like to see at least 1, preferably 2, in this runoff.

How is it "shady"? At that point in time, it was the first round, and I had almost nothing to go off of when choosing between you or jimmy. Obviously keeping you around at that point and time was the smarter townie move, as I explained then. But since that round you have become more and more suspicious.
