I've really wanted to discover other Whovians on the board, so figured I'd try to start a new thread with the thought of "if you build it, they will come"
Side note - 50th Anniversary episode will be November 23rd. I'll be hosting a party at my house (20 minutes south of Nashville, TN). Anyone who's a Who fan is welcome!
I am such a fan! Tennant was by far my fave (by far!! allonz-y! timey wimey, etc.), but Matt Smith/11 has grown on me. I got a little bored by the Amy/Rory/Melody/River stuff near the end of that storyline but since the introduction of Clara I have loved it again!
it took me a long time to get over losing 10. and Rose, and even Mickey. so I know I will miss 11 a bit, but I am excited for 12. it does make me nervous though because we are getting to close to the end!
also did you guys hear that Christopher Eccleston won't come back, even for the anniversary special? lame.
Although I am kind of happy he decided not to be in the special because that left open a spot for John Hurt... and I'm pretty excited to see what they do with him.
I've seen some speculation that Hurt is some secret incarnation between 8 & 9. I don't know how I feel about that. But it makes sense... kinda.
yeah I have seen that. I'm not sure if it makes sense now, but by the time the story is told I'm sure I will be like, "wow, of course that's how it happened."
I think Hurt will be the Time War Doctor - The one who destroyed everything. The Doctor kind of hates himself over that, which is why he "forgot" about this particular incarnation, and why 11 basically said he's not worthy of the name Doctor.

I think that is totally plausible. I loved 10 when he was all angry/bitter/destroyed. At the beginning and the end of his incarnation, it was a whole full-circle type character progression.
I haven't seen anything on returning companions, though, and I'm curious as to who will come back for one last trip in the TARDIS.
I REALLY hope Rose stays stuck in the other dimension, but I'm pretty sure I saw where she's coming back. Ugh, hate Rose Tyler SO MUCH.
aww, I love Rose. I wasn't sure about her at first but she really grew on me, and the connection between her and Ten was beautiful. the Bad Wolf thing, the final scene between them... I am by no means a "sappy" person and I hate rom coms but I did end up emotionally invested in that story. I mean, I cried. a lot.
I'd like to see Tennant back as the Doctor. I'm more excited that Tom Baker is coming back and he better be bringing that wonderful scarf with him.

The only confirmations I've seen have been for 10 and Rose. Other living Doctors have said they haven't been contacted. Both Captain Jack and Martha have said they won't be back either. Then again, I'm all for being surprised and have my fingers crossed!
As much as I loved Tennant, I don't think it'd ever work to have a returning Doctor. They have to keep moving foward, which means new faces with the regenerations. It simply wouldn't be the same IMO.

I should have been clearer when I said I wanted Tennant back as the Doctor. I just meant for the 50th anniversary. Sorry about that! It would be a huge let down if they just had 11 regenerate back into 10.
love the pic!! I still love ten the best but I feel like your man was definitely under-appreciated. he was responsible for revitalizing the series and getting people interested again. he always seemed a little unstable and that wasn't a bad thing.
