All the Rose hating makes me sad. If we want to band together in dislike I vote that being directed towards Donna Noble.
I actually don't dislike any of the companions except Amy Pond. and I even liked her a lot initially but just got tired of her storyline. but Rose will always be my sentimental favorite, because as one of the guys dressed as Ten and answering questions at a MonsterCon panel said last weekend, "You always love your first." Donna was alright overall, a little too much yelling, but the end of her story was by far the saddest of any of them.
I agree with @o'neil - I like all of the companions. They're all quite different, so I've always tried not to compare them to each other. I adored Donna, though maybe that's cause I've always been a Catherine Tate fan. I like how feisty she is and would always stand her ground with the Doctor.
I've never understood the Rose hate either. What's the foundation for it anyway?
Love the fact that it will be an older Doctor. Also, with this guys history with characters , I will be very disappointed if I don't hear at least one " I`m the fucking Doctor"!
I'm pretty excited... I think it was time for an older Doctor again. I'm looking forward to checking out some of the things he's been in, but I'm happy
I just asked in Random today where to start my Dr.ho Experience. Since we have a team of experts here I seek your guidance.
I always recommend the episode "Blink" to start with- it really grabs you and it's one of my all-time faves. after that, though, you should go back and start with the beginning of the new series, first episode "Rose", and watch them in order.
he definitely made an impression in "The Fires of Pompeii" but I haven't seen him in anything else. I think he will carry on the proud tradition of the eccentric Doctor, and I am excited. one thing I like is I think this rules out a Doctor/Clara romance, and I'm glad. I love Clara but I'm not ready for another romantic entanglement yet.
So, I'm sure that the campers in the RV attached to this police box wanted it to be for the Beatles and Sir Paul, but I just kept saying to my friends "It's bigger on the inside!" when we walked past. Them, not being Whovians, didn't get it. Haha!
So it turns out that when I was watching Sliders back in the day I was basically watching a massive Dr. Who rip off wasn't I? I'm only about 6 episodes into the Ninth Doctor and am bummed that I've missed this over the years.
On a side note, as if my fabulous son wasn't geeky enough with chess club he watched Aliens of London with me and before I could ask if he liked it had clicked onto the World War Three episode....

I used to loooove Sliders- I think I can probably trace the beginning of my fascination with quantum physics to that show.
Fifty years have gone by since the TARDIS first stole A timelord, so special, to take her controls Throughout time and space, their adventures abound As we gaze upward with feet stuck on the ground Wishing, and hoping, that maybe, someday, The mad man in a box will steal us away. So let’s gather together as we’ve all done before (Just look for the signs and the blue TARDIS door) There’ll be food and some drinks, like there usually is, And if you can’t find a sitter, it’s okay to bring kids. Remember the date is November 23rd And ask all of the Whovians you know if they’ve heard About the great party this is destined to be With sincerest of love, from The Doctors and me.
Don't forget to RSVP to the viewing party! Any and all Whovians are welcome!
So I'm about halfway through the 1st Tennant season and Torchwood is being thrown around like crazy from Eccelston to now. I know that's another tv show but am I going to have to watch that to follow this or are they parallel or what?
