Its gonna be lineup additions. Its already been pretty much confirmed Avicii and Haim are gonna be there. And now with the boston calling announcement, Im keeping my fingers crossed that Firefly picks up either Modest Mouse or Death Cab. Get one of them and Ill buy my ticket immediately.
Yeah- highly unlikely its single day at this juncture and i'm gonna say its a 0% chance a headliner dropped out. They would cease sales immediately if that were the case and they certainly wouldn't make an announcement that its your last chance to get early bird tickets and then announce that. My thought is ticket sales have slowed to the point where they aren't going to lose any real sales by taking them off for a few weeks. They will increase price on 2/18 and it will accompany some additional artists (i.e Avicii, Temper Trap, Haim, Tame Impala) and some of the other bands that were on the original poster that came down. Hopefully one or two more surprises in there. Maybe the addition of comedy? They had to get a jump on governors ball with ticket sales due to proximity and now they know everyone else is likely waiting on the Bonnaroo lineup and/or tax returns so its a creative way to get back in peoples minds the day before Bonnaroo releases

Its funny how on this message board everyone is very logical about what this announcement will be. On Firefly's offical board, everyone is freaking out "OMGZ they are gonna add Daft Punk/Arcade Fire/Lady Gaga!!!"

I have tickets for FF this year and I can't even stand going to their message board. If I read one more person write something about how their big surprise is Daft Punk I'm going to lose it. I hate to admit but I love the lineup and it super close to where I live so It's hard to pass up. I may just not talk to anyone the entire time I'm there though at this point. Gah.
i plan on going to whatever day Foo headlines and i think its safe to assume thats on Sunday right? Also im getting a hotel room for the night but i wanted to see if anyone had a good or bad experience at any in previous years and how the traffic and parking is at the fest and how prices are inside for food and beer?

Good thread! Thanks for all the info and opinions on Firefly, folks. I have been trying to decide whether to go back for my fifth straight Bonnaroo or to go to Firefly this year. The FF lineup looks decent but I hesitated to buy tickets. The Roo lineup was going to make my decision for me in a few days but I think I've made it already.
Roo it is. From what I've seen here, the lesser organization, slightly greater expense ($150 for camping? Huh?), and strong bro contingent have turned me off of Firefly. Dover is about 7 hours from home, Manchester is 9, but I know the way and using one more tank of gas better than evens-out versus the cost of camping at FF. So the cost and drive time would be roughly similar (if there isn't another overturned fireworks truck on I-65 on the way back). But I know and like the setup and atmosphere at Roo, and what little I know about the lineup already sounds good.
Any Firefly lovers want to change my mind? Due to the two fests being on consecutive weekends, and me having a job, living in Ohio, and only having so many willing friends, doing both is simply not realistic. Quick, before BLAM makes us all crazy!

I've been to one Bonnaroo (2010) and attended Firefly last year and will be back this year. For me its a 5-6 hour drive vs a 15 hour or so drive so its a much easier choice. I had no 'bro' issues last year and it was just my wife and I who are both late 20's. Its a pretty good vibe. No overbearing security. Its not Bonnaroo by any means but its definitely a good option. It wasn't nearly as hot and overall I had a great time.
Firefly will be doing some additions and other announcements tomorrow so at this point just wait for both lineups and decide which lineup fits your taste better and I don't think you'd regret your choice if you ended up at Firefly IMO. Some cool things Firefly had outside of Music was the Dogfish Brewery Tent (Air conditioned and TV's with music and sports) and the Arcade which had a mix of new and old arcade games/pinball machines that were free. Lots of shade available and they illuminate the forest you walk through at night too w/ some pretty cool lighting.

Im waiting until Wednesday before I make my decision between Firefly and Bonnaroo. Right now FF has a few great acts, but then a whole lot of fluff. Tomorrows announcement and BLAM wednesday hopefully makes it an easy choice.

I've already got my tickets for firefly and fully plan on buying roo tickets as soon as they come on sale... But I've been on both of these boards as a first timer for both fests and you have people on BOTH saying gaga, daft, and anyone under the sun, last night on omnibus I saw someone take someone else seriously about Taylor swift definitely being at roo. I enjoy sitting back and enjoying the lolz all around.

Bleachers were announced at 11...guessing they are building up to Avicii being announced (Hopefully)
But Bleachers werent even an announcement. They've been on the lineup since the beginning. They really gotta step it up with these "exciting announcements".
Remember a page ago when I suggested the exciting announcement might be single day ticket sales and you guys shot me down? Yeah, thats alot more exciting then what's actually been announced.

To be fair if they're doing announcements every hour on the hour, even if they go till 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. thats 10+ announcements. Every one can't be AVICII.

Big Gigantic just added. Weird that they announced them AFTER releasing the day by day breakdown and the updated lineup video. I guess there is still hope for some more lineup additions tonight?
