"Ebullient, RI — On Nov. 16 Providence's Columbus Theatre will have been reopened for a year. Celebrate with us at "REVIVAL(HAPPY BIRTHDAY)!" This fest-style show will feature amazing bands on 2 stages. Preliminary line-up includes: The Felice Brothers, Anais Mitchell, Roz and the Rice Cakes, and The Low Anthem and more to come! Profits will benefit the ongoing restoration of the 1926 hall and help the volunteer-run Columbus Co-op purchase a classy sound system for the space. Thanks to all the wonderful humans who have brought love and spirit back into this doom-riddled theatre. The past year has renewed our faith in humanity. Let's celebrate!"
No one else going??? Quacker is in. I'm on the fence pending work stuff.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
So I've been pretty busy the past few weeks and don't know if I've signed on to Inforoo, but when I remembered that this show was last night I made my way over here to see how it was.

What'd you guys think?
Had a great time. Felice Brothers closed with "Rockin' In The Free World" cover. Great set by them. Too short (not a full concert set....wanted more)

I've booked the Ramada in Middletown for 4 nights, just in case we like the line-up They have a shuttle to downtown so we can get the ferry over. Thanks Fawn for this info. The Ramada has 20% off if you book more than 3 nights and the prices are good compared to everything else in the area. Now to wait for the line-up!!

"Just in case" you like the line-up, dreamingtree?
I think it's safe to say that you will!!
Haha I know. I guess I should say, if I like the line-up enough to pay for a flight, rental car and hotel
It's a lovely place to spend a summer vacation. Oh, and it's a decent music festival right on the bay at a historic fort. Even if the lineup is blah, it's still a winning move overall.

Agreed LD, but my hubby won't be coming, so I would prefer to spend vacation time and money with him. That is why the festivals are not a total priority for me.

I know what you're talking about. It's why I won't be back to Roo for a while.
Like Newport is easy for me, it's like an hour and change away for me. Heather and I end up going 40 minutes from her dad's place (in northern RI) to Fawn's place, then another 35 minutes from there or so. The more direct route is maybe an hour or so, but only Katy Mae seems to like going over that toll bridge a bunch of times.
Worse comes to worse and if you don't come up for NFF, there's always the DMB weekend in Hartford.
@k2b k2b... hearing a lot more of Kodaline. First heard them on the way to or from Roo 2012 and mentioned. It's taken some time but they are coming up.

Listening.
Also, has anyone / everyone seen Inside Llewyn Davis yet?
Responding to my own question, I just watched the Another Day / Another Time documentary on Showtime. Umm... how about NFF just books the entire lineup from this concert special for next year?

I know the tickets went on sale in January last year (and maybe they did in the previous years as well), but I just figured I would remind everyone:
If QC is a thing again this year, then you can count me in for sure (even if it isn't, I may still find my way there)! I had such a good time last summer and will likely be making the trip solo this summer.

Have been waiting anxiously for the ticket announcement.....
Quacker and I assess and make decisions on QC usually feb/march... Even if we opt out of "Quack Club" there is always room here for friends to stay. The difference being would be "Taco Hell is up the street, here's a map to get to Newport, there's the washer/dryer, etc". I'm fairly comfortable saying there will be some form of QC this year however it will probably not involve quite the level of 'customer service' as years past due to some other $$ things on the to-do list this year.
So I'm sitting here at home, drinking one of these:
And then seen this topic bumped back up. Yet another great thing about Rhode Island.
In the last 2-3 years, I've learned Rhode Island is a lovely place with many wonderful people and wonderful things. NFF is one of them. Quack Club is another. I can't stop speaking wonderful things about both. I'm definitely looking forward to another summer classic, and seeing a bunch of wonderful Inforoosters there.
Woah. What is that beer? Narragansett? I think I remember trying their basic brew at QC. But I've recently come to the conclusion that milk stout is my favorite type of brew, so that looks amazing.
Speaking of which, a few breweries around me just started canning. My first thoughts? "I can't wait to take a case of these to a festival this summer and share with everyone!"
