They're filling out the Friday schedule pretty quickly.
And all that is available - are Friday only tickets. So far I'm undecided on picking up one of those. Everything else is sold out, so I hope you have yours by now.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Yea I saw that. Too bad. Hope he does more tour dates in the fall and makes an NYC stop
There's a stop in CT that is really the best I can ask for! The Oakdale (Wallingford) is only 30 minutes from me. AND he's touring with Jason Isbell. WINNING.

I'm still not sure what I think of his newest single. While I would have loved to see him at NFF, knowing he won't be there gives us a better idea of who will. There were a lot of plausible/likely sub headliners for a while. With him and Neutral Milk Hotel out, we can narrow it down a little!
It's been a while since I made my obligatory post about the adds.
I had not really ever given Gregory Alan Isakov a fair shot prior to last Thursday. Now I am in love.
Robert Hunter is a good addition. I love his music, but can't really get into him singing it.
Lucero will help kick my butt on Sunday.
Caitlin Rose is one of my favs! So excited to see her on the lineup! I remember her Bonnaroo lounge set (2011) like it was just yesterday. If you're unfamiliar, and you like Jenny Lewis at her twangiest, be sure to check Caitlin Rose out. Although, I once predicted that she'd be the next big thing in country, and I don't think she's really moved in that direction yet. Maybe NFF will help break her out!

I know there are some really impressive people playing this summer but, my tastes tend to go toward more of last summer's more alt-folk type performers like Lord Huron, Hey Marsaille, Beck, Andrew Bird. So far the only group like this is Band of Horses. I'd like to see more world-music or alt-groups in the line-up. I know it's still going to be great this summer but, there hasn't been a line up announcement that's really made me excited yet.

I would agree that I prefer acts like that as well.
But don't Jenny Lewis, Thao, Houndmouth, Lucero, the Oh Hellos, and J Roddy Walston fit into that category?
Not to mention, it looks like Dawes and Conor Oberst are good candidates to appear on this years lineup. (And I'm really hoping for tune-yards).
I guess I'm just not as crazy about those groups(with the exception of Jenny Lewis) as I was last year. And I did fall in love with Hurray for the Riff Raff and Rayland Baxter not expecting to like them. So, I guess I should just trust that this year will provide some incredible music!

Well. Beck is like the gold-standard for indie-folk. That will be hard to top. Neutral Milk Hotel would have come close, but unfortunately it sounds like that's not going to happen.
Which indie-folk acts with summer tour plans would you like to see?
(Would a Decemberists set be a good start? I still believe they'll end up on the lineup)

Here is my list of who I'd like to see that are touring this summer.
Angel Olsen Dr. Dog City&Color(?) Wake Owl Head and the Heart Beirut Haim Sun Kil Moon Elbow would be a long shot hopeful
Good list!
I had never even considered Sun Kil Moon. He could be this year's Phosphorescent (folk act that Pitchfork loves). I would also say he looks very likely given his tour schedule; NYC on July 24 (after working his way up the east coast). Nothing yet booked for NFF weekend.
I would LOVE for Beirut to be on the lineup. I didn't realize they had tour plans (thanks for pointing that out!). Unfortunately, given that they have no US dates announced for July, I'm not going to get my hopes up.
I meant Shaky Knees (but like Shaky Graves) - just thought that lineup might be a little more in your sweet spot. It's got a lot of overlap with NFF but less of what you don't like (if I'm understanding you correctly).
The lineup for Shaky Knees is incredible. I love everything about Newport though--- the people are the greatest, the scenery is out of this world, love the ruins and the small stages. In the middle of a blizzard here and dreaming of summer at NFF!
With how much everyone raved about their set last year, I knew the Milk Carton Kids had to be invited back this year! (Today's add)
How many bands can one typically see in a day? There are now 8 acts already scheduled for Saturday that I want to see (and there are only 8 acts scheduled for Saturday at this time!)
You've been there, you know it's possible to see everyone if you wanted to jump round! Don't know why someone would though!
SOOO excited Milk Carton Kids. I've been listening to them a lot the past few months. One of my go tos.
I was over at the Isle of Misfits a few weeks ago and we all watched a documentary on the making of Inside Llewyn Davis. It was AMAZING. I was speechless. And Milk Carton Kids were just one of the groups that blew my mind over two hours. I suppose I should see the actual movie now, huh? I don't remember what it was called, but I hiiiighly recommend it. Title quackerfawnmart?

Was it a documentary on making the movie or the making of the music? That Showtime special "Another day, Another time" was one recently and was great. Featured tons of awesome artists and was half performance from their NYC show and half behind the scenes. Highly recommend it.
