I'm not gonna lie, I have a lot of research to do in regards to the Newport lineup this year. I've heard of a lot of these acts, but not familiar with them.
Though Lucero is opening for DKM, which I am seeing Saturday.
Last year a lot of the Newport artists came through Cleveland on their next leg of the tour. I got to see Hurray for the Riff Raff, Spirit Family Reunion, Langhorn Slim, Lone Bellow, and Milk Carton Kids again. I think they(Milk Carton) were my favorites!

They've been before ('12) so it's certainly possible that they'd do it again. It looks like their tour ends with Bonnaroo and then there are scattered dates in August.

Also, I am already extremely worried about conflicts. 15 of the 23 announced acts are bands that I would actually pay (and quite often have paid) money to see.

Yea, they'll be tough. I'm just happy that everything is so close so even if you have to split sets you're only missing a couple of minutes for travel and most spots can hear well.

My guess is Lucius will be at Newport. Saw some of the Folk team hanging with them at SXSW
Newport Folk didn't host an event at SXSW again this year, did they? If I recall, pretty much every act that played their SXSW gig ended up on the lineup.

Paste helped put it on last year at the Blackheart. I never saw any info about a Newport showcase this year.

Newport Folk didn't host an event at SXSW again this year, did they? If I recall, pretty much every act that played their SXSW gig ended up on the lineup.
Not this year but I know Jay Sweet is also part of Heartbreaker Banquet team whose line-up always has a bunch of Newport Folk artists
Ewe. I suppose there has to be at least one that I don't like at all!
What do you dislike about Reignwolf? Are you just not into that style of music? (If so, do other blues-rock bands such as Black Keys and Gary Clark Jr have no appeal to you?)
I'm just curious as I have never given him a chance until today, but I really like what I hear so far.
