I'm not expecting him. Seems like it'd cost a lot.
I don't know if he charges a lot more for festivals, but I saw him, Wilco, and MMJ in a good seat at an amphitheater for $25. I can't imagine his booking fee is too high

Plus he had a love interest in Mavis Staples too. And the whole "lost sessions" release. It just seems like a very possible scenario
I believe Dylan is another artist Newport has posted about on Twitter and/or Facebook at one time claiming that he wants too much money nowadays.
And if I remember correctly, Wilco and MMJ gave him flack after last year's tour for having no interest in talking to any of the other musicians on the tour. Not sure that affects his booking at all, but it's worth noting that maybe he's not the same person who played in 2002.
Speaking of headliners, I forgot that Ben Harper (with Charlie Musselwhite, or he has a new album coming out with Ellen Harper) is always a possibility, especially given the fact that he's playing Floydfest that Saturday. Also, I didn't realize My Morning Jacket had an album loosely projected for fall. I guess it wouldn't be a huge surprise if they started a fall tour with Newport.

Well there's no indication that these guys will be added to the lineup, and we're getting short on schedule space. But for those of you who haven't perused the Bonnaroo additions, I'd definitely give these guys a shot. I really think ilovethisgame (among others) will like this. Their music is definitely catchy enough to be this year's breakout folk act.

Wow! That's interesting I did not know that. Hopefully he will make it out to the festival again, everybody can agree that would be awesome
I was thinking the other day that Felice Brothers and Langhorne (who are currently touring together) could make for a pretty great after show residency. I could see Newport trying to mix it up for the show at the Columbus (since Dawes is on the lineup already).

I'm actually going to see Felice Brothers tomorrow night at Newport Blues Cafe! can't Wait!

Jealous! I don't know why I skipped the Felice Bros / Langhorne Slim Pittsburgh show 2 nights ago. Complete oversight on my part.
It would be really cool if they announced that they'll be back (whether for the festival or for a festival after show) at the show!
That Tweedy, Oberst, Rod y Gab, Dawes, and Trampled by Turtles clusterf$%^ at the top of the Sunday lineup is going to give my legs some good exercise.
Fortunately Tweedy is playing a free show near me this summer. As for Oberst, I haven't really taken to the two newest singles and I was thinking that I would be okay missing his set, but you just reminded me about Dawes being his backing band and there's no way I can miss that.

Yeah Dawes and Oberst w/ Dawes are near the top of my list. While I'm excited for Tweedy's set, I've never taken the time to really get into Wilco or his stuff so if I have to miss him, I'll live. I'm looking into going to a small fest in MA that's shaping up to be a mini Newport including Trampled By Turtles, so I may skip them at Newport if there's another great act on. Rod y Gab I'm excited to see live if I can. But there's not a single act on the lineup that I won't be a tad disappointed about missing.
I wrote Valerie June off right away, because I think I sampled the wrong song, but after listening to this song multiple times tonight I am in love. (I like the studio version better, but the live videos are hauntingly beautiful)

Holy crap. So happy. Haven't seen him in years. This should be awesome. I have a long-lost love affair with the Cold Roses album and I need to re-introduce myself to a lot of his other stuff. Hadn't been listening to him in a little whiel.
