Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Also: looking back at old Watkins Family Hour shows I noticed that Dawes, John C. Reilly, and Willie Watson have all been special guests. Yes please!!
PS. Also, Jackson Browne and Fiona Apple are semi-regular guests. I know it's a long shot that they'll make the trip to Newport (since most shows take place in Cali), but I would love if either or both happened to show up!

I surprisingly had a very comfortable spot at the blues cafe last year but the 3 people i was with owned the corner by the stairs in front of the bar and no one wanted to stand near me cause all they would see is me in the way and i drank as many free scotch and gingers as possible
I have a feeling The Decemberists will be there and they were waiting for Boston Calling to be over to announce it due to the radius clause. Would make sense with Chris Funk returning to host "For Pete's Sake" and no Black Praire return announcement. If the last two were Decemberists and Jack White, I'd pass out.
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!

If that's the case we might have to wait for June for a JW announcement to get past the Governor's Ball in NY. I can be patient.
I've suspected decemberists for a while now. As for The headliner mid June, doesn't that seem super late? Last years announcements were over so much earlier than this year
When the Decemberists were announced for Boston Calling, they clearly stated that Boston Calling was their only festival for the year. So while I guess they could be announced for Newport, I think it would have been weird to say that if they were going to do another festival after.

That would actually make even more sense. If they had an exclusivity clause in their contract they wouldnt be able to announce Newport until until after Boston Calling happened

This is still my thinking. And it would be even weirder if the other festival is only 1.5 hours away.
But then again, who knows. It does make some sense given the information. And NFF once said that Ryan Adams was not interested in playing, which obviously changed at some point.

Alison Krauss, Willie Nelson, and Kacey Musgraves all have shows near Newport in early June. I guess they could be candidates in some form. (Maybe we're wrong about Jack White and Willie Nelson is the last headliner, and/or maybe Alison Krauss or Kacey Musgraves is the non-headliner Saturday act still to be announced).

I was wondering about Willie too. He has a big gap open around that time and would qualify as a headliner. Jack please. No knock on Willie but Jack please.

....also known as the most stressful minute of the year....
So stressful.
I'm going to be trying to buy one ticket for Saturday. Past years I've gone for all 3 and would only luck out certain times but this year I've got the Milk Carton Kids for Friday and will try DT for Saturday.
If Felice Brothers get announced as a guest (unlikely) I'll be trying to score a second-hand ticket to that night lol.
Can't wait to see who fills out the guests this year.
The question is... can I make it to Providence post-fest and treat Beck as an after-show?
Hmmmmm.... Probably have to pack it in at 6 PM to get to Providence in time assuming minimal Newport traffic for leaving NFF early. You already know how long it takes to get out of the fort after the headliner.
Too bad they could not have worked with Newport to get Beck as an (official) after show. I guess Providence ordinances prevent Beck from taking stage too late, but I am sure quite a few people in the area who would normally see Beck will be at Newport (and will not be leaving early if Jack White is the headliner). Pushing Beck's start time back to 9:30 or 10:00 would be a good way to sell a lot more tickets. Granted this is moot if it sells out anyways (but still could have been good for marketing purposes).

I was surprised to see the timing of that show. I suppose it will sell out anyway since it is only about 3000 seats but it still seems kind of odd that they would book an artist that played NFF last year during the fest this year.
Is anyone from out of the area heading this way before the Friday?
There might be some. Not Clear yet LD.
We have Don's sons wedding in VT this weekend. After we get back, will get on FB and see if Nonnaroo is happening and also start to figure out who/howmany/when for QC.
I just won two tickets to see the Head and the Heart and Lucius this Friday! That definitely helps ease my mind about the Head and the Heart not being at Newport as well as aids in some tough decisions that will need to be made on that Saturday (Since their announcement, Lucius has become one of my favorite bands-of-the-moment).

Maybe because I was 4th row surrounded by 20 year olds, or maybe because it started raining, or maybe simply because I don't know the newer album as well as their first, or maybe because fest sets are rarely as powerful as small venues... but I wasn't enamored by THATH at Boston Calling this weekend.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
