Way Over Yonder just announced a handful of acts. Could some sort of overlap be a reason for one of the Newport hold ups? I would love to see Local Natives on Saturday's bill.
Just got home from THATH and I have to say I was underwhelmed. The acoustic numbers were the best in my opinion---- didn't enjoy the big rock star type production. Lucius on the other hand was incredible. I can't wait to see them again at Newport.

That's exactly what I said a page ago. So disappointed.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Got two for each night. Was kinda thrown off by the format of the pre-sale. Oh well, can't complain, mission accomplished.
Yea, it took me a second to realize where the tickets were. But I'm pleased. The process was much easier/better than previous years where there was lots of freezing and slow loading and stuff.
I don't know what the transportation plan for Quack Club is this year, but I will just throw this out there. I am planning on renting a car and driving in each day. I can be the early shuttle to the fest in the mornings and get people who want to be there for the first act in on time. And then after I can get people to the Blues Cafe if any Quack Clubbers are going.

I must say, I really enjoyed the Head and the Heart last night. It did help that I came in with low expectations. The last time I saw them, they suffered from Popular Folk Act Syndrome. You know, when an act hasn't really found its voice, is still best suited for a coffeehouse, but is now playing to a massive crowd that doesn't quite know the catalog well enough to stay hushed for most of the set. But you can tell they've really gotten good at playing to big crowds, even if it involves some rock star flair. They had everyone singing along, people dancing, etc.
As for Lucius, they were fantastic. I heard people around me talking about having a new favorite band after their set. I'm interested to see how they are embraced at Newport. Even though they have folk-elements in their music, especially on album, their set is largely dance-pop. Almost more Chvrches or Tegan and Sara than Newport Folk (I know T&S played Newport before, but wasn't it an acoustic set?).

Are there ever people selling tickets for Heartbreaker day of the show? I missed out buying tickets. Where is the show at? Loved Lucius--- one of the lead singers is from Cleveland too. Ohio is represented well at Newport with Lucius, Sun Kil Moon, and the Oberlin alumni in Lonesome Trio!

It's will call at the Jane Pickens theater. Last year they had a guy with a clipboard going down the line of people before the doors opened, checking IDs and giving out the wristbands. Unless you find someone who is going and has an extra ticket, there no real way to buy them aftermarket.

this is all true, but there definitely were people with extras looking to sell at the venue. As hard as it it to buy in the aftermarket with will call only, it's also hard to sell. There were groups where someone had bailed, not shown up, etc.... so if you are serious I wouldn't lose hope.
