Getting greedy here, but it's part of the fun. After shows and Jack White. Which would be more likely-Heartbreaker Banquet or a sit-in with Deer Tick? Or no chance of either?
I'd say Heartbreaker Banquet would be more likely. I am still caught up on the fact that the tickets were +$50. And maybe there's a strategic reason for the delayed announcement of the artists playing. The White Stripes were also a client for Electric Lady Studios at one time.
With all of that said, it's still most likely that he doesn't show up at any after shows.

IF i remember right I think Bonz might be in that car too.
So I got 1 more spot, 2 if you guys realllllly wanna squeeze 3 people in the back of a Subaru Impreza.
Fawn, just give me instructions and I'll have the Saturday post-fest-feast ready for all of you when you return home
I'll give an official answer after Roo, but I don't think I want to leave early if I don't have to (ie. after show, etc.). I'm not a Jack White fan (obviously), but I don't really like the idea of skipping his set completely. I am intrigued about posts in this thread about his newer stuff being folkier and all that... I haven't given him a listen though... So I need to do that/ see his Roo set and go from there.
and LD I was hiding out getting beer and chilling in a hammock during Reignwolf's set. Out of view, but still good sound. Personally, I was glad to his (kinda) missed his set. Still think he's totally not my style!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
There is currently 1 more act on Sunday and 1 more museum on Sunday. Both days start at the same time so why less announcements for Saturday?

They've been announcing names for the Pete's Sake sets. I was thinking that maybe there will only be Pete's Sake acts on Saturday (maybe more on Saturday than on the other two days). Last year the Museum was only booked for 2 of the 3 days (Nashville to Newport and Newport Homegrown).
As for that final act, it's a bummer that there's still room at the top of the lineup on Saturday for another act. And their announcement earlier made it seem like we were still waiting on a few acts to be announced. But they could easily just start one of the stages a little bit later and be fine. Can't say I'm that upset because there are already too many good acts on Saturday; one more would have just added conflicts for me.
After hearing this tune on public radio the other week, I was holding out hope that he may have been announced as one of the final acts in a Frank Turner sort of set.
Everyone who is complaining about this line-up is not looking at the bigger picture. Smallest festival on the main circuit, curated for a certain family of music lovers in a beautiful setting. Non-Profit who keeps throwing money back into grabbing amazing artists. Count up last years artists and count up this years artists and if you feel this ain't worth the price of admission this obviously isn't the festival for you.
Maybe it's time to sit back and listen to the music of the artists that are coming and start actually getting excited for it.

Long Live Newport.
Amen.
I've been dreading the conflicts for a while now. There are so so many I want to see/hear this year. Many more than other lineups. I hope the choices to be made are not That painful when the schedule drops. One of the other great things about NFF is if you are light on your feet.. well shit never mind i did it with a broken foot last year... you can bounce from stage to stage pretty damn quick as long as you don't follow the crown like a lemming.

Last year the saturday deer tick show had jason isbell, justin townes earl and steelism who were all on the lineup. Ravi shavi and one other band that was from brooklyn played that was not on the lineup. Plus vanessa but she was with john all weekend.
