Okay, some logistical questions for those of you who have been going to NFF for a while now.
I'm thinking of setting up shop each day for a more relaxing experience. A place to treat as a home base. Last year I brought in chairs and it made for a great experience; this year I'm thinking of bringing in a cooler as well. Is there any reason I won't be able to make my favorite mixed drink prior to heading in each day, put it in a discrete juice bottle (or something of the sorts to match the color), and then throw it in my cooler? I don't remember security being too strict, and surely they won't smell each drink I bring in, right? (I'll leave the vagina vodka up to the rest of you magicians!)
Wish we could tote in an EZ up : ) With our fabuous credentials .. : ) We'll be bringing in our chairs with the canopies. They are not the short ones but we always are respectful and set them up out back. Looks like for us Friday will be a Fort base, and sat/sun Quad home base.
Job Lot has these fold up coolers that dont even need ice. Put them in the fridge overnight and the gel packs in the lining get all chilled.. They have a padded shoulder strap too. I can pack it with ice for my beverages! Last year I brought in a little Absolute wild tree vodka and mixed with the DELS. De-lish. This year I want to pre-mix Abs Pear with diet Sierra mist. Buy one DELS, consume with a nip of wild tea, reuse cup so one blends.
Read the rules on the cooler size. No glass. Tara brought in water and some small fuds last year. They did make her open it and lightly viewed for factory seals. I've not seen anyone dig through the cooler to the bottom of the ice. But if its a soft side they may/will pat the bottom. <- same as any large bags.
Do you know what those fold up coolers are called? I'm going to look into them (on Amazon). I found something called Pack It that looks to be what you are describing.
I'm going to measure my coolers to get a better idea of what I have to work with. It's also good to know that they checked for factory seals. There was nothing on their website about things needing to be factory sealed. This may put a damper on my plan.

LIghtly checked for seals.. I would Not let it stop you. Not going to deter me. Look for a pm... I'll check back in tomorrow. Honestly when i grabbed the cooler bag, I did not even realize it did not need ice. Liked the size, shoulder strap, the collapse storage deal. When i got it home, there's a lot to be said for the fold up support thingy at the bottom that could accidentally cover up stuff underneath it. Will go all the way back to Job Lot all of 3 minutes away tomorrow and see if I can score some more. They were cheap and I am not seeing anything like it on Amazon yet.

Here's what I'm looking at right now for schedule:
Friday
??? -> Devil Makes Three -> Maybe Reignwolf -> Jenny Lewis -> CONFLICT -> Ryan Adams
Saturday
Willie Watson -> John Reilly & Friends -> J. Roddy Walston & The Business -> Shakey Graves/Houndmouth -> Deer Tick -> Milk Carton Kids/Nickel Creek -> Jack White
Sunday
??? Up until Conor Oberst -> Jeff Tweedy -> Mavis Staples. Need to do more listening for stuff that day. Probably going to catch the Lonesome Trio.
And I don't think I tried Newport Storm last year, so I'll be sure to do that.
It's nothing special. I only drink it at NFF because it's the only real option.
They'll have Lagunitas this year. Not sure which beer. Probably the IPA? I'm not expecting much from Newport Storm, but I've become a total beer nut this past year so I'm excited to try something new.

I'm doing Lonesome Trio because #rare. And because it's Ed Helms. And bluegrass music is always good for a jig or two.
But if you're not sold on them, I'd also highly recommend Caitlin Rose. Especially if you like Jenny Lewis. (I'd say she's a slightly twangier Jenny Lewis; somewhere between Jenny Lewis and Kacey Musgraves).
This Arctic Monkeys' cover is what sold me on her about 4 years ago when she was on one of the cafe stages at Bonnaroo (still to this day the only cafe act that I caught at Bonnaroo; although if I had gone in 2010, I'd have seen Dawes).
Two Tall Trees/Mandolin Orange -> Devil Makes Three -> Jenny Lewis -> Robert Hunter/Lake Street Dive -> Sun Kil Moon -> Ryan Adams
Saturday
Willie Watson -> John C Reilly & Friends/Oh Hellos -> Benjamin Booker/Shakey Graves/Houndmouth -> Milk Carton Kids/Nickel Creek -> Jack White
Sunday
The Deslondes -> The Lonesome Trio - > Gregory Alan Isakov -> Hosier/Hooray for the Riff Raff -> TbT -> CONFLICT -> Mavis Staples
It looks like our Friday and Sunday schedules are extremely similar (not that I am surprised!)
And for those talking about Sunday.. I have the time slot marked for a possible For Pete's Sake sit in, but if I can't get in, I plan to be at Lonesome Trio. However, I would choose Thao if you haven't seen them. I caught their set at Roo and loooooved it!!!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I hope that this woman, at the very least, is forced to undergo psychiatric evaluation. I can't think of anything a person could experience personally that would cause them to falsely accuse somebody of rape. If she had made this claim to the police instead of spewing it on the webz she would be in jail.

That reminds me, I'm totally up for some beer trading.
I've looked at the schedule once, and decided this year I'm not planning anything out, and just going with the flow according to crowd sizes, weather, etc.
I just want QC to get here now! I'm itching this year.
Mine is thankfully close to Quackers So I'll get to enjoy NFF with him this year I hope!
Friday - ? - Mandolin Orange (thanks K2b), ?, DM3, the new group called breath out and relax , Jenny Lewis, run over for some Lake Street, back for Band of horses, maybe run off to a little Jimmy Cliff, Ryan
Saturday - ?, a little John R, Oh Hellos, prob J Roddy to Shakey, to Houndmouth (looking forward to this much), Milk, Nickel, run over and hear at least one puss n boots and back for Jack
Sunday - Deslondes, lonesome, Gregory, Hozier, maybe some rifraf, TBTurtles, and prob Lucero, Mavis
If there are any requests for Long Island/NY beer just let me know and I'll try to pick some up.
What's your way that we don't have up here? I know we have Blue Point fairly common, and some Captain Lawrence is in Connecticut.
There's probably some Brooklyn Brewery stuff I could grab (same area/supplier for Brooklyn Bowl and a lot of NYC venues). Not really sure what else. I have some Blue Point's I was going to bring but I can grab anything else too.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Brooklyn and Sixpoint are fairly common up here also.
Best thing I can think of would be Captain Lawrence Kolsch, which I have trouble finding up this way. Usually it's the IPA or the Freshchester APA I do see. What would you be looking for in return from up here?

Yes and Yes. I brought a bunch of Ohio beers for someone this year to Roo. Never met up with them :-( Anything in particular I can get ya? I think you have sampled many of the ones I usually bring.

Honestly, I don't know enough about different beers/breweries to ask for stuff in return. Just bring good stuff and I'll grab random beers throughout the weekend. I'll try to see if the distributor by my job or near my house have the captain lawrence stuff.
LLL - Only thing from Ohio I'm familiar with is Great Lakes. I know once you got me something from Akron, but I don't remember what specifically.
For anyone wanting to do the beer trading: Usually I tend to get ambers, American Pale Ales, pilsners, blondes/Kolsch, and porters.
I have some Narragansett Dels shandy, and can prob pick up more. I have a couple of Narragansett Autocrat coffee milk stouts I saved from the winter. There's a few other goodies that I got lying around. I can also pick up some local stuff: Grey Sail and Foolproof from RI. Thomas Hooker, Old Burnside, and City Steam from CT. Mass has tons of shit, Jacks Abby is the first thing that comes to mind.

itrainmonkeys if you go to a right package store, the people will likely be extremely knowledgeable about what they carry that is local and not often offered up here.

Yea, I'm aware of that....I was asking if there were any preferences from others for what I should bring. My point in my last post was that I don't know what stuff is offered up there so I can't request anything for people to bring for me to try. So I was saying just grab whatever is good from the different areas.
The first (and only) certified Trappist ale in the USA is made around here, if anyone's been looking to try it. I can pick up a 4 pack if anyone is interested.

Funny you mention them. I was going to say jack's abby which is brewed in mass, also by monks, and has recently been gaining some popularity. I was drinking the hoponius union on tap at quarters friday and enjoyed them while playing nba jam.
