Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Ha. I should've realized that. I blame the fact that NO's Jazz Fest has been inundating my every waking thought. (But no, I've yet to go and this year isn't the year, either).
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Have any of you ever done the Jazz Fest? The lineup was just released and I really like it. It's highly unlikely that I will hit it up, but I'd still like to hear comments on it.
Little vacation time, an ahem sick day or two... you have a place to stay. : )
So activity has picked up on the NFF page, they stated that the lineup rollout will begin early February, and last year the first artist was announced on Feb 1. I would not be surprised if the lineup starts dropping on Monday. Might be worth gearing up for the daily NFF Facebook/website check.
Shakey has a huge year ahead of him, with a live compilation album planned for this spring, a new studio album out in late 2014, and a string of festival bookings including Hangout, Sasquatch!, Newport Folk, Stagecoach, Firefly, Telluride Blues & Brews and more TBA.
EDIT: I emailed Newport Folk earlier today saying that I'd love to write the intro for Shakey if he was on the lineup (they've been asking fans to write band intros)

Just a heads up - took a glance at NFF's Twitter. They announced yesterday that if you're planning on being there Saturday, you better buy tickets soon.
Been stalking for days now... with the invite to apply to introduce thought it might be on its way to start.
Nice find k2b... learn me : ) Have been hearing that name a lot lately ...
ILTG... oooooooo so saturday is going to WOW us? Yes please and thank you. The even years are always the Best for me.. : )
Edit - Never mind - i took that wrong... thinking an announcement would spike saturday vs saturday is close to sold out. Timing would be in line with last year.

Let's see. He's a musician out of Austin who carefully crafts his music as a blend of blues and folk. His style of play and his voice channel Tallest Man on Earth a little bit. His studio cuts do not due him justice as he's a modern-aged troubadour.
It's easy to get lost in his YouTube performance videos; I am never able to just watch 1. But here are two good recordings.

That Shakey announce is a major screw-up. If NFF sees that they honestly may drop him. I've heard they have dropped artists in the past for announcing before they are supposed to
Really? That seems odd. All festivals have a band or two on their lineups that announce early, and I have never seen those bands get dropped. It seems especially harsh for a festival that caters its lineup announcement to the artists' commitments and schedules.
It would also be a big FU to the fans who want to see him and may have become excited from the accidental announcement. I know I would surely contact NFF and let them know what I think of it.
Last year, Frank Turner self announced a week or two before NFF introduced him. I'm pretty sure there were one or two others as well.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Found for this Devil Makes Three. Looks like they expect to be there. Woohoo!!
"The Devil Makes Three has plans to finish up the current U.S. tour, release a few new songs and would like to perform abroad in the near future.
"We have some b-sides from the record we want to release, and we have plans for a four-song EP," he said. "After that, we hope to go across the pond and tour Europe."
Some festivals are also on the agenda for the "Stranger" musicians including the Newport Folk Festival, among others that are still in the works, Bernhard said."
Yiippeee! Devil Makes Threeeeee!!!!! The set at Roo '12 where I was gifted my very own surprise QSAROO bear. And when you and Fawn thought I was hitting on a good looking chocolate gentleman @bandeto

Real talk - DMTs show in NYC in November with Shakey Grounds opening, was by far one of the most energetic shows I've been to in the last year. Only real competition being the Disclosure shows I went to and NIN
edit: Run the Jewels was up there too, esp. and surprisingly the free (RSVP) show

Great find! I could not get into their first album at all, but I think it'd sound a lot better in a live setting. I'll also have to listen to their new album.
After we've already stumbled upon 2 band announcements, I tried searching last night for some more but came up with nothing.
I tripped across something friday - twitter i think - not very good (or could be bothered with) at social media like you 'youngins - where someone said looking forward to the roll out starting next week and NFF retweeted it. It looked like that may have even been from this year.

I was at that show I've seen them 3 times and they are SO great live.
Brand new Nickel Creek song... And an announcement that they are playing festival dates this summer. Please please please NFF (Telluride Bluegrass already landed them)

Posted on the other new thread this am where someone said 'has a reason to believe they are getting together'. Maybe it just came up today but the nickelcreek.com website has tour dates through May and ticketbastard had tickets available.. The website bottom NC-25 - 25 yrs of NC.. Thinking we have a really good chance.
75 Years of Mavis and 25 Years of Nickel Creek? Works for me!
They specifically said "some festival dates" this summer. Only one announced so far is Telluride Bluegrass. Given that they "reunited" on the kids stage at NFF in 2012, I would think we stand a good chance at seeing them this year.
