This is getting interesting... Are we legitimately on the verge of a "Metallica | Pearl Jam | Kanye West" top 3?
I would be shocked if we get all three. It would be pretty big for Lolla if they got two out of three.
I'm most confident that Kayne will be in the mix, it would all add up. I'm going to be so disappointed if PJ is not there. Everybody got me excited for Beck and that was a bust.
The Lolla board is convinced that Pearl Jam/Metallic/Kayne will all be their. If thats case it could look like
Metallic vs Outkast Kayne vs AM PJ vs Skrillex
I would be pretty damn happy with that. Would love to get MMJ against Kayne, but still would have no complaints.
Pearl Jam being there still doesn't make much sense to me. Unlike everyone else, I think playing Wrigley last summer makes them less likely to headline Lolla, not more.
"Among those who will shake up Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 9 and 10, we find the ultimate heavy music band, Metallica, who will perform their only show in North America this summer at HEAVY MONTRÉAL." heavymontreal.com/blog/the-2014-lineup-is-here/
If PJ don't play Lolla then I will be going to Forecastle. I don't want to judge my festival selection off one band, but unless Lolla gets Pearl Jam I can't see a scenario that I would choose Lolla over Forecastle. Even though I couldn't go to a game at Wrigley and I will much prefer the Lolla undercard, Forecastle will save me some money, and that top 3 is a home-run for this guy.

Wait, what does Wrigley have to do with anything?
If I do go to Lolla I will be in Chicago the Thursday before the festival to catch the Cubs/Rockies game. I'm a huge baseball guy, and catching a game at Wrigely has been on my bucket list for awhile.

I'm 1000% sure that no other festival in the US will compare to Roo. Really loving forecastle's lineup too.
Right now as far as top fests in US go IMO 1 Bonnaroo 2. Governor's Ball 3. Forecastle 4. Coachella 5. Moog Fest
So far Lolla is already in the hole, because Muse isn't playing any other US fests besides Coachella. Arcade Fire is playing two shows in Chicago two weeks after Lolla. Outkast is playing Summerfest, rarely does a headliner play Lolla and summerfest(BIG RED FLAG). Then Pitchfork has grimes, tune-yards, future islands, real estate, Beck, and Neutral Milk Hotel. So who the hell will Lolla get?!!!
Well so far Lolla is looking good. Foster the People and Arctic Monkeys are confirmed. Lykke Li is rumored. Justin Timberlake is rumored, but I don't see it happening haha.
Headliner wise these are my recent guesses Friday Coldplay- Red Bull Tool- Bud Light
Saturday Kanye West- Red Bull The Strokes- Bud Light
Sunday Pearl Jam- Red Bull Kings of Leon- Bud Light
Those guesses you just posted would destroy the top of Roo. JW jus played 2 yrs ago, and their 2nd line is a bunch of subs from Lolla last year. I like Elton too, but in terms of a live show Id take PJ, Tool, and Coldplay over him in a heartbeat. Roo is certainly not a bad lineup but other than Kanye (who lolla may get) and Elton, the rest of the top is so "been there done that" for me at least.

I tend to like Lolla's lineup more, while I tend to like the vibe of Bonnaroo over Lollapalooza's immensely
When does Lolla usually drop the line up anyway? Is there any news on that? I would love to see some coldplay again, that show was righteous in 2011. Yellow opener with the fireworks haha. Up against tool though would be rough, lots of running. Does lolla still do that secret 75$ sale anymore?

Sorry, only North America show for 2014! This is from the website. "Metallica will be playing their one and only North American performance of 2014 at HEAVY MONTRÉAL"
