Do Lollapalooza and Osheaga usually have a lot of cross over? Would love to see Flume, Jon Hopkins, Cyril Hahn, and Duke Dumont.
Yes, their lineups last year were almost exact copies.
There is significant overlap but exact copies is a stretch. The top 20 or so are very similar, after that there are more differences. Lolla also has a larger lineup in terms of the number of bands.

75% of the Osheaga 2013 lineup appeared at Lollapalooza.
I'm trying to stir up trouble today. I know there is a ton of evidence against Arcade Fire. But no Chicago show until after Lolla- albeit x 2. They could support three shows in a huge market. Why wait until after Lolla when you pass through the mid west twice before? I think they are still possible and fit the 2, 3 bill very well. They are what the projections are missing.
They are also waiting on Montreal as well and have a Lolla sized hole in their schedule.

KoL over Outkast, eh?
I guess his reasoning is Outkast playing almost every festival in the states this summer or they don't want to put 2 hip-hop acts in the top 3. They're the number 1 act though at Governors Ball and Forecastle, over Jack White. There is no doubt in my mind that they would be a bigger "get" than KoL.

I would assume it would be next week. Either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. I wouldn't have a shot at it on Wednesday as busy as I will be. Thursday or Friday I would be getting my hopes up though...just to be disappointed more than likely.

I did the first two years they did it but that was a long long time ago

Don't get your hopes up. I've never gotten through (2010 was the closest I've ever come, they sold out while I was waiting in the queue), but it doesn't stop me from trying every year. You can try using a bot to let you know when the Lolla page updates, but unless you're online the second you get the notification you won't be fast enough. Godspeed.

I tend to agree with you, but Outkast is playing Oslo, Gothenburg, and Helsinki and consecutive days (presumably in a plane). If they can do that run, they could do Lolla, Osheaga, Ovo. But North Coast seems more likely.

I think there's an outside shot at getting someone else instead of KoL (Coldplay comes to mind) and Foster the People could replace Artic Monkeys I guess but I'd be shocked. This seems to be a reasonable consensus and I would be just fine with that top line.

In 39 minutes we will know at least 2/3 of the Lolla lineup, because Osheaga drops their lineup today. The Outkast headlining is still up in the air, but it wouldn't make any sense to book Kanye instead of Outkast, for pete's sake they are only doing festivals! So this clause thing needs to cease for this occasion. I would be extremely disappointed if Outkast doesn't play Lolla, but I'm always a Lolla lover at heart. Fingers crossed!

I'd have to go back and check, but I don't think the guy has missed on a headliner in the past two years or so. I know I saw somewhere that he called Capital Cities last year and that was a miss.
I want to think there will be a surprise headliner, but if Lolla gets PJ/Kayne/Outkast then I can't see it. KoL would make a lot sense to finish the top 4.
