Yup. I think that last rock headliner is what we're not sure of. Could easily be KoL and it's what I expect but there's some flexibility with that slot for sure.

Why's everyone so sold on KOL? They just played a show in Chicago this past week that wasn't sold out. I personally like the idea of them being there since I plan on attending, but it doesn't make a heap of sense.

Last year Lolla had Nine Inch Nails, this year that same kind of act will be Tool. Last year Lolla had The Killers, who is just as big as the killers if not bigger: KOL. That's where the logic comes in. Pearl jam and Outkast seem highly likely. And I'm still not sold on Arctic being a headliner at Lolla, not yet. Coldplay or tears for fears, and definitely Skrillex based on his tour schedule.

As big or bigger than the Killers? KOL are pandering for a come back of sorts lets be honest. Not crapping on KOL because I really dig the majority of their old albums, and I would like to see them there. But the Killers are up, up way up past Kings.
This. They are fucking terrible, I don't see why everyone is selling the fest short on these mocks
Because Lollapalooza never books a bad headliner..........
Skrillex, Arctic Monkeys, and Kings of Leon would be three bad headliners. I like Arctic Monkeys, don't think they're big enough to headline though
Edit: I'm not saying they couldn't hold down a headlining slot, they could and would probably kill it, I just don't think they have the draw of being a headliner at one of the biggest festivals in the US

Lolla loves them some buttrock. If there's one major American fest that AM could headline, it's Lolla.

ITT we debate the comparative merit of The Killers and Kings of Leon.

Remember Lolla has six headline spots. Pearl Jam, Kanye West, Outkast and Kings of Leon are all capable of playing arenas. Hell Skrillex is playing arenas this summer as well. With that top five there is no reason why AM couldn't be the 5th or 6th headliner.

Really I was just hoping it would boil down to a debate about who had the more attractive frontman. Tuesdays...
just having Outkast and the Replacements alone would be enough to sell me on Lolla. Outkast is in Toronto on the 3rd for OVO, which leaves the 1st and 2nd open for Osheaga and Lolla. They'd be doing 3 shows in 3 days. That's a squeeze but I'm hoping it's possible because they NEED to do Chicago; it's such a huge hip-hop city and this fest has a reputation that far surpasses most of the other fests they're doing.
IMO anybody expecting Kanye AND Coldplay AND Tool is cray. I could maybe see one of them but that would be it. Coldplay played in 2011. Granted I'd love to be proven wrong and see all of them.
Here's to hoping they get Slint too who are doing Forecastle just a couple weeks earlier. Considering Lolla's reputation I think Slint and the Replacements would fit perfectly. Neither of them have ever played Lolla either.
Also, in terms of sizes of local venues played within the last ~year (Minneapolis), Kings of Leon just did the 20,000 capacity arena last week (not 100% filled obviously), the Killers did a 5,000 capacity auditorium, Phoenix did the 2,600 capacity auditorium. So I base my headlining/second-tier predictions loosely off that metric.
