I feel like Pearl Jam has became more likely in the past month, with Metallica coming out and saying their only doing one show in North America and Soundgarden putting out tour dates that makes them almost a definite no. That being said, there are still big question marks for them. Mainly being they played Wrigley last summer and played a few songs off the new album. Just have to wait and see.
Going to give it my all for the secret sale, assuming that it is this Thursday or Friday. I think it will be judging off past history.
Where does this "Pearl Jam loves Chicago" stuff come from? It doesn't look like they play Chicago more than any other major city.
Eddie is from Evanston and a huge Cubs fan. They play there the most of any Midwest city. They also have a history with Lolla. Not a lock, but them being there makes sense.
Also I am obsessed and need to see them this year, so there is that.

Metallica won't be at Lolla, because they already confirmed that their only US fest appearance would be at Heavy Montreal. AM posted Sunday on bands in town a couple months back, so we know when they are playing. However, if it is pearl jam, I really can't see Arctic Monkeys vs pearl jam to close it out. So I'm still thinking that arctic doesn't get that headlining spot like Phoenix last year.
Friday: Tool(bud light) vs Outkast(Red Bull) Saturday: Skrillex(Bud Light) vs Coldplay(Red Bull) Sunday: Kings of Leon(Bud Light) vs Pearl Jam(Red Bull)
Pre headliners(6:00-7:30 slots) Modest Mouse Interpol Tears for Fears The Replacements Foster the People Arctic Monkeys

As far as headliners are concerned, that would be fantastic for me.

Ah, didn't know Eddie was from Evanston, that's a legit connection.
In addition to that, he has written a song about the Cubs ("All the Way"), is a regular at Stanley's, and decided to drop in on both of Springsteen's shows when he played Wrigley. It's well documented, that man doesn't put ketchup on his hot dog.

Fun Pearl Jam fact: They have not played Chicago in consecutive years since 06-07. They played in May 06 followed by Lolla in 2007. To me the take away is "unlikely to play Chicago two years in a row," but I'm sure everyone else will read that as "they love to play Lolla after doing a major tour."

Rumors are that PJ will only be playing one North America show this year. If they are only playing one, then Lolla makes a hell of a lot of sense as a one off show. Or maybe they play Wrigley again (one can dream!)

I'd rather they play Lolla. I've been to 15 or so PJ shows, and have never had trouble getting tickets. Until they played Wrigley and everyone and their mother wanted to go for the same reason people file in that stadium to see a horrible baseball team. The venue was great, and it was a great experience despite the delay, but I'd rather they stick to the Arena's and festivals.

The scalpers were ridiculous that day. I did pay a little over face to another 10 club member for her extra (ended up with awesome seats in section N). However, they did release tickets on the field about an hour before showtime. Getting in is always a mix of what are you willing to pay, and persistence. But the demand for that show was far beyond anything I imagined it would be.

Wow Im shocked that Arctic Monkeys are a headliner. I know their popularity in the US has really skyrocketed this year....but its just weird that a band that's barely in Firefly's top 10 is a Lolla headliner.
