JT was my first vote. Then it came down to Elton John and Beyonce and I realized Beyonce would make my girlfriend want to come... So I voted for Elton.
I voted JT and Madonna as the two I, personally, would most like to see. I really wanted to say Bey in place of Madge but I just couldn't. I would just walk away hating myself.
Edit: I actually consider Kanye a pop star. Can we add him?
I went with Elton John & Billy Joel... I have to admit the fact that I probably have less time left to see them was a significant factor. Take them away & I'm thinkin Timberlake & Adele.
I feel like there needs to be some distinction between older acts & younger ones... there's just something different about Elton John & Justin Timberlake in our collective psyche. I'm not even going to argue if one is better or more talented, they're just different.
And how is Prince not on this list?
Clearly it's much too late & I'm just being cranky & critical for no good reason. Carry on.
Did she announce more dates or are you basing this off the run of Roseland Ballroom shows she's doing in April? Right now it's not a "big hole" it's "no current plans."
I am basing it off of the tourdates announced earlier today (listed below)

Lauderdale, FL - BB&T Center 5/6 - Atlanta, GA - Philips Arena 5/8 - Pittsburgh, PA - Consol Energy Center 5/10 - Uncasville, CT - Mohegan Sun 5/12 - Philadelphia, PA - Wells Fargo Center 5/13 - New York, NY - Madison Square Garden 5/15 - Washington, DC - Verizon Center 5/18 - Cleveland, OH - Quicken Loans Arena 5/20 - St. Paul, MN - Xcel Entergy Center 5/22 - Winnipeg, MB - MTS Centre 5/25 - Calgary, AB - Scotiabank Saddledome 5/26 - Edmonton, AB - Rexall Place 5/28 - Seattle, WA - Key Arena 5/30 - Vancouver, BC - Rogers Arena 6/2 - San Diego, CA - Viejas Arena 6/3 - San Jose, CA - SAP Center at San Jose 6/30 - Boston, MA - TD Garden 7/2 - Montreal, QC - Bell Centre 7/9 - Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre 7/11 - Chicago, IL - United Center 7/14 - San Antonio, TX - AT&T Center 7/16 - Houston, TX - Toyota Center 7/17 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines 7/19 - Las Vegas, NV - MGM Grand Garden 7/21 - Los Angeles, CA - Staples Center

I'm almost embarrassed about my picks Haha. If I was their by myself then about the only one I would go see would be Elton John. But I chose JT and Katy Perry due to the fact that if the both of them were there then maybe I could actually convince my Wife to finally come with me. Then she would realize what she has been missing out on all these years.

Quick questions... who the hell goes to bonnaroo to hear "vocalists"? Lady Gaga having a castle on the stage? Are we talking about the same fest?
Only a few of the artists on this list have a shot at headlining and Beyoncé nor Adele are either of them for Christ sake. The only two I could see being the actual headliners would be Elton and JT, although I don't even think JT could pull it off without help from a Jay-Z type.

Lady Gaga would put on an interesting show with all her antics and props and sh*t.
Elton John would be somebody to mark off a bucket list, and would bring a variety of ages.
Lady Gaga would probably do something with Elton John also. Which would we be far from something great, but would be interesting to say the least
**please take note I am not a Lady Gaga fan. Truth be told, there is nobody on that list that I would want to see at Bonnaroo. Maybe Elton John, watch 2 or 3 songs, then catch the pit for LN Which.

Word. F*ck "talent."
Beyonce is now officially the ONLY woman in history to have her first five studio albums hit #1. But she can't headline for sh*t - damn vibe killer, that's what she'd be.

I broke down and bought it on iTunes tonight, and I'm gonna buy it again if it hits vinyl. That album is a damn stunner. TBH I usually play up my Beyoncé love for dramatic emphasis, but this album is great.

IMO there are far more talented artists out there. Beyoncé is talented, but it doesn't seem like a bonnaroo headliner to me. If you want to see her, why not grab a tick to see her in the Staples center or maybe somewhere in Miami where they love that kind of talent.

Beyonce went platinum in a week. People love her everywhere.

I heard that Beiber guy sold lots of albums too...
there are a lot of platinum artists who sell a ton of albums that I would NEVER want to see at Roo. Album sales do not quantify greatness. I just think more people want to see somebody like a Prince shred on the guitar than watch some pop star dance around the stage shaking those enormous hips and singing "single ladies". I mean, she's not even in the lead in your poll with similar acts, now throw her in a poll with REAL headliners and see how many votes she gets.
Nothing wrong with with loving her and/or her music, but it just seems weird to think of her on the farm, period.

First, Beiber doesn't sell near as well as Beyonce, that's ignorant. All pop music is not the same. Second, the whole premise of this thread is "IF another pop singer headlined Bonnaroo (Stevie Wonder has already done so successfully), who would you like it to be?" Stopping by and waving your d*ck around talking about how you like REAL music isn't very helpful.
