Governors Ball will be doing a Reddit AMA at 2pm est tomorrow. Hopefully they will answer some questions about setup and what they are doing to improve the festival. I know there was a tropical storm last year but they weren't prepared at all. They mentioned in the email the ferries are improved from last year, but I still feel better walking across the bridge saving a few dollars.
Any band recommendations from the lineup? I'm going through as much as I can thanks to the snow day. Never really gave Interpol a shot before...but glad I'm doing it now. I'm sure there are more gems down low on the lineup too.

Grimes, Kurt Vile ("Walking on a Pretty Day" was one of my favorite tracks of 2013; I think it's a very accessible song no matter what type of music you're into), Haerts (kind of sounds like Chvrches), Tourist (especially if you like Washed Out; I'm thinking he's about to explode onto the scene), Little Comets (reminds me of Givers if you're familiar with them; if not, think Vampire Weekend but a little more indie. Check out "Jennifer"), PAPA (good ol' American rock)

One of my former professors was telling me how awesome this dude is a whole back, never got around to listening though. Glad I was reminded, this jams.
Tanlines is good too. I was planning on going to their set if it doesn't conflict with something else I love. I wonder if they have a new album coming out. It will be over 2 years since Mixed Emotions came out when they are at Gov Ball

How long do you guys think until tickets are sold out? I still need to convince my buddy to go with me...
I didn't wait. My friends either don't want to shell out the $$ this far in advance, can't get over the idea of not going to bonnaroo this year and thus are holding out hope that someone else will foolishly agree that Firefly is a better option b/c its a camping fest (lol), or don't want to commit to Gov Ball b/c they would rather spend their money on Outside Lands, Sasquatch, or Hangout, which I can't really argue against. Either way, if you're from the NYC area you WILL know people who are going. So why wait?
Agreed. Discovered them about a year ago while watching this movie called Drinking Buddies. High School Lover played during a scene and I used my Shazam app to figure out what it was. They are now a staple of my morning commute.

They also said they tried to get Pearl Jam to headline a night but they declined due to Europe commitments... Guess that settled once and for all that they won't be at Roo, if their was still any doubt.

Also cool to read that Eminem was booked to headline, but backed out a month before the lineup announcement. This led to The Strokes' booking, which is fine by me!
