Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Phoenix vs any of the headliners would be a bummer. Hopefully they switch up the schedule a bit this year and have maybe Empire Of The Sun as as the third headliner on The Honda Stage or just have OutKast play unopposed.
Going to Gball with a group of 4. Whereafter all of us will be making a steady trip down to the farm to meet the rest of the croo. Should be a fantastic adventure .
Why can't this festival be in August or July or hell September?
The week before Roo makes the logistics a nightmare for me. But this is seriously one of the best lineups out so far this year.
Totally with you on that. I'm noticing more and more the East Coast is doing all of their festivals in June and it's so aggravating... I would like to hit this, Roo, volunteer at Firefly so I can chill with my friends and not have to pay to go, and then head to Electric Forest.. But that's 4 weeks straight of going to festivals and I sort of doubt my job would even pay out my full salary for all those missed days.. I'm saving $150 a week to do as much as I can because going to festivals is my favorite thing in the world, but it really sucks how the last two years everything has been so packed together.

Jealous. If I wasn't doing Coach, I would consider doing this.

Have you ever done ANYTHING outside in NYC in August? No fucking thank you.
Early June is still spring-type weather where I won't be covered in a sheet of slime from all the humidity.

I liked Phi's idea of doing this September. Rock The Bells back in 07 at the same venue fell around that time and had perfect weather and remains one of my all time favorite shows.

September would be better, but people do less shit in the fall. Kicking off the summer with an eclectic music festival is just better business.

Unless the market is oversaturated with options, which it is.. Everyone I know is making a choice between this, firefly, and bonnaroo. I'm the only crazy person I know attempting to do all three.

Spread the festival season out like im doing. It's impossible to see everything. Sacrifices must be made. Do 1 festival per month in the summer, maybe 2 in June (including roo of course) if you could swing it. There are more festivals this year than ever.

The Northeast is most definitely not over-saturated, that's why the two other festivals you're talking about are in Delaware and Tennessee, because the only worthwhile Northeast festival is GB. I doubt many people before this year weighed Roo vs. GB unless it was financially-related. GB stepped its game up and is now making people who used to dismiss it think twice.
I like the timing, my only issue is it's the same weekend as Mountain Jam, which I like as a festival, but GB is more my speed and is literally 10 minutes from my apartment.

Their aren't really any festivals around these parts in July or August. In fact unless Bisco happens, I will be taking July off. August I am hoping to hit Lollapalooza again, but it depends entirely on their lineup.

Osheaga August 1st. It always has a pretty nice lineup, and Montreal is the shiz.
Nah they won't be doing that for a few months. In fact I just did a google search for you and they didn't release the daily breakdown or start selling single day tickets until April last year.

Yea, the thing about the Northeast festivals are that they are kind of niche festivals and not super varied. Like, yea we have Mountain Jam and Newport Folk Festival but both tend to be geared towards one type of music. Obviously there are unique acts but in general I'd say Mountain Jam is about jam bands/americana and NFF is clearly folk, acoustic, etc.
Governors Ball is perfect cuz it has good rock, good rap, good indie, and some other genres I'm leaving out.
Boston Calling and Freefest, while on a smaller scale than G'Ball, are fairly mixed too.
There's also Electric Zoo on Randalls Island at Labor Day weekend. The only major festivals you could put there in the fall besides it, would have to be like two weeks afterwards. Any later than mid-September and it starts getting too cold.

Although I would happy if this was a fall fest, having these festivals lumped together in May and June may be good in a way for promoters to book the bands they want and easier for bands to plan a tour around. Once mid June comes a lot of bands are going over seas to do the festival circuit.
Firefly, Governer's Ball, XPoNential, Mountain Jam, Newport Folk, FloydFest, Gathering of the Vibes. That's a lot of east coast fests in a month and a half span. Would love to do Gov's Balls but there's too much other goodness out there.
(hoping to make this happen via southwest points, tax return $ and free lodging at a friend's. the week before is the last work week before the summer break so it would be a nice end of the year ikillednochildren present. TREAT YO SELF.)
After much thought and consideration, we have to bail. Even with the free place to stay, it's just too much. Hopefully gonna make it to Northside Festival (which a week after). While not as nearly mind blowing, it fits my tastes more and a much cheaper ticket.
This is the second best line-up I've personally seen this year.
