Im predicting its gonna be Outkast vs. Skrillex, Jack White vs. Disclosure, and Vampire Weekend vs. Axwell & Ingrosso. Mainstage preheadliners being Phoenix into Outkast, Strokes into Jack White, and Foster the People into Vampire Weekend.

So I'm going to be doing a single-day ticket for Friday. A chance to catch another Outkast set, Damon Albarn, Run the Jewels, Tv on the Radio? Worth it.
Also that Sunday looks incredibly weak. And Saturday is crazy stacked.
With Kanye at Roo and Outkast most likely out, probably heading down for that Friday to see the boys.
Not so familiar w/ Gov.'s Ball, but thinking of going this year. Do they add additional artists a la Bonnaroo? Maybe it's just the poster layout, but this year's lineup looks shorter than 2013's.

I believe during the reddit AMA they said no additions to the lineup. They also said there will be some collabs (probably Earl Sweatshirt/Tyler the Creator) and aftershows around the city!

Nice. Anyone have any experience with the aftershows? Does a festival ticket get you in? What were the major aftershows from last year?

Didn't make it to one last year... But know about them.
Festival ticket does not get you in, but very fair prices.
It was fairly simple lineup wise last year, but from what I've heard they're really stepping it up this year. Personally, I'm hoping for an Axwell V Ingrosoo Afterparty, but I'm not so sure how likely that is.
Awesome read, i am so freaking excited to be doing this in to bonnaroo this year
I'll be doing the same and as of right now I will be going to this one by myself. Hopefully we run into eachother!
Just saw you are going to Cut Copy on the 21st! I'm jealous, none of my friends are able to go and or know about Cut Copy that they'd want to go. I'm debating going solo, but being from South Jerz getting to NY is a bitch. Especially after the show having to get a train from Penn Station to get home. Alas i shall never relive a cut copy show:(
But yeah, i'll be staying in Hoboken, and going with 2 friends possibly more joining on certain days. Be glad to meet up or anything as it gets closer.

I'm from jersey myself, I live in Montclair at the moment.. The number 1 piece of advice I can give you for going to shows is to avoid Penn Station. Trains are never reliable and you have to be on their schedule... Last Saturday I was at Gramatik and last minute I decided to go to the after party with Hudson Mohawke; I couldn't have made that spur of the moment decision if I was relying on Penn Station.. For any show you should drive to Harrison or Hoboken and take the PATH. It runs every 15-20 minutes, is only $2, and if it breaks down and stops running (very rare)your car isn't all that far away.
Jack White and The Strokes? F**********************K. Must. For those of you Gov Ball vets or those ITK, how likely I can see Jack White and The Strokes without having to race or be stuck in the back? I know they're both playing Saturday at different times, but nervous I'll have to sacrifice something. Probably my 2 favorite artists. I'll be heartbroken if I'm SOL at all on either. This will be my first Governor's Ball, any advice? Specifically transportation to and from/landscape of the grounds/food and drink prices. Thanks in advance.

There is absolutely no reason you shouldn't be able to catch 95%+ of each set.

Most likely they will both be playing on the main stage. The Strokes and then Jack White. You wont piss anything.

When they did a Reddit AMA they basically implied The Strokes and Jack White would be playing on the same stage, back to back.
So what mid-tier bands would you guys reccomend for this? Love all four headliners, along with Phoenix, Disclosure, TVoTR, Spoon, Julian. Getting into Broken Bells lately (if only their new album was on Spotify...), and love Chance the Rapper. Of course I also know a few Blur/Gorillaz songs for Damon Albarn, and a song here and there for Interpol/Fitz/Foster/Naked and Famous. Open to listening to some of these bands more, or whatever. What do y'all reccomend?
