So what mid-tier bands would you guys reccomend for this? Love all four headliners, along with Phoenix, Disclosure, TVoTR, Spoon, Julian. Getting into Broken Bells lately (if only their new album was on Spotify...), and love Chance the Rapper. Of course I also know a few Blur/Gorillaz songs for Damon Albarn, and a song here and there for Interpol/Fitz/Foster/Naked and Famous. Open to listening to some of these bands more, or whatever. What do y'all reccomend?

Really excited for this year. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with the Bus situation or walking across the bridge to Randalls Island? I've heard lots of conflicting things from people that have gone to this fest and ezoo before. Really don't want to pay 50 dollars for the ferry, so wondering what the better option is?

I usually take a cab there and walk the bridge home. The walk home isnt bad its probably 15-20 minutes in either direction to Manhattan or Astoria. Ive never taken the bus there.

Thanks, glad it isn't too bad, definitely going to try and walk it as much as possible then.
So i think my usual festival buddy unfortunately has to bail this year, so i am now in attendance alone. Was wondering what the crowd at this is like, i am fairly extroverted (i ended up having to go on SS Coachella solo), but if people just stand together in their cliques and are unfriendly, it is quite annoying. How would you all rate the crowd at this fest, and also what do you think about being here solo. Let's go from a rating level of Perry's Stage - Bonnaroo (crowd wise)

I will be attending this year on my own as well (I might try to sell my pass for Sunday though if the daily breakdown holds true). I didn't attend last year, but based on the first two years I'd call it a mixed bag. It's in NYC, so you get a pretty diverse group of people. I think you'll be fine showing up solo, year 2 I got separated from my group and wound up meeting a girl in the back of Kid Cudi and just chilled with her the rest of the night. You'll be fine! Heck you can even hit me up if you feel really weird.
Pretty excited about all of the Roo conflicts that this is going to help out with.
I was just thinking about that when going over the lineup again. I'm guessing both schedules will be out around the same time so this should work out great.
When should I expect to hear about the late night after shows?
No clue....i'm looking forward to it though.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to get in when it opens on Friday....really hoping the first few hours don't have anyone I'm dying to see.

We know Vampire Weekend is going to conflict with a few great acts at Roo, so seeing them play a headliner slot should be perfect. Now, I get to camp out a decent spot for one of the Jack White shows (and I'm thinking GB with The Kills on the lineup). Phoenix, Disclosure, Daman Albarn, and James Blake will all most likely be pitted against someone I'd love to see, and having them at both fests is a luxory I'm pretty excited for.
Black Dynamite you're going to this too???? See you there!
Also i agree, not sure what the pit situation is here, but i'm happy this can settle some conflicts. Hoping not AS competitive as Bonnaroo.
I had an amazing spot for Vampire Weekend last year at Firefly, so that's not too much of a priority. I just know i'm going to be upset by conflicts at Roo, happy this will hopefully solve some of those.

Yeah, absolutely. The lineup for this festival is probably my second favorite of the year. I've always wanted to give other festivals a go, and with this one seemingly taking the next step, and it only being 2 or so hours away, it's a no-brainer. We'll definitely have to meet up and catch some shows.
I'm also curious as to how the pit works. Does anyone who was there last year have any idea?
It did sell out last year. The three day passes went quicker than expected. Not sure what to expect this year, but the bill is about as good as last year to warrant the possibility.
Has anyone here done VIP? I said screw it and did the payment plan because they don't charge any extra for it and I can easily swing the $180 payments. I'm just looking to see if anyone has any experience with it.
As someone who lives in NYC, I am so torn about Gov's Ball vs. Bonnaroo. Most of the acts I'm looking forward to at Roo are gonna be at Gov's Ball, AND they have Outkast and it's just so convenient... I won't have to take a full week off of work, I get to sleep in my bed. But at the same time, no camping, no crazies, no late nights...

I'm torn as hell. What do I do, Inforoo!?
Looks like you have answered your own question. Gov's Ball.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that tickets are selling fast and we only have a few hundred payment plan (278 when we last looked...) tickets left. This is your last chance to purchase 3-Day tickets with the price broken out into 3 payments.
You can find more info on the payment plans on the Ticketing Page on our site. See you in June!
For me I'm more excited about the late night shows than the schedule. NYC has some great venues that should be taken advantage of.
Agreed. This is what I am most waiting for atm. They said they were going to mostly use the same venues as last year (which I personally did not like to hear - seeing that they did not tap many major venues), but I have a feeling this may have changed. Anyone have any predictions/information?
I hope they announce soon, but I have a feeling it'll be a while... I really hope they look towards a Lolla-type model, their aftershows looked insane last year!
