On another note, this means that Albarn will be playing shows in the States this summer...which means the album will be out soon, which means my bordering-on-terminal-psychosis love for anything Blur related will once again rear it's ugly head.
A dream setlist for me would include songs from each of his projects. Start with Blur, sprinkle in some The Good, the Bad and the Queen and end it with the mighty Gorillaz.

I would want to see the same thing. His catalogue is impressive. There's no getting around it. As for this lineup, it's deep and diverse. I only hope some of these acts, like Albarn, Jenny Lewis, RJD2, Vampire Weekend and Jack White - and I could go on and on - make their way to Bonnaroo.

I agree, this has my hopes up. And a Damon Albarn set where he plays songs from all his projects would be a highlight of this summer, i can only hope Roo really did book him like that person hinted at yesterday.

From interviews he gave last year, it sounds like that is what he was planning on doing. I'll be interested to see what kind of set up he uses; whether he has a backing band/session musicians, or if it is truly solo.
Also, I saw you mentioned James Blake - caught him at Coachella last year and he was really, really good live. One of my favorite shows of the weekend, so don't miss that.
So bummed I missed James Blake at Coachella last year. Skipped him to try and get a good spot for Tame Impala; will certainly not be missing it again. I would really hope Damon goes at it with a full backing band. Really interested to see how that set will turn out - probably amazing.
My best friend is trying to tell me this lineup is weak and we should do firefly instead.. He's out of his mind... But that means I'll be going to this by myself =(

You should make your friend feel inferior and belittle him for liking sh*tty radio rock.
Eh i can see your friends point w/ firefly though. It all depends on individual tastes. I think Firefly is better w/ the headliners though imagine dragons is embarrassingly high and logistically its easier to camp than ferry to randalls island and get a hotel in the city for 3 days. I already bought my Firefly ticket after last years fest so thats where i'm headed this year but this lineup at least will get me to Governors ball for one day if they release single day tickets. I think both lineups are great though- just wish they weren't so close in timing. I'll probably shoot for Made in America this year too. Just think the east coast only had failed festivals a few years back i.e. All Points West, Catalpa and now there are 3 really really solid ones in Made in America, Firefly, and Governors Ball
Edit: Also interesting is Governors Ball commenting on Facebook "there is something that might not have made the paper..." Sounds like they might have a surprise in store

Outkast, Jack White, and Vampire Weekend as the top 3 are awesome. They may not be the biggest names in the world but they all put on a killer show (I'm making an assumption about Outkast). Then the rest of the lineup is filled with a bunch of different quality acts. Really excited to see Phoenix and Earl Sweatshirt and a bunch of other names I kinda know but haven't listened to yet.

Just so you know, because you seem like a decent human being - Jackson wasn't hinting at anything. He was just messing around.
I just liked this because it seemed like one of the rare times you gave a semi backhanded compliment and quality advice. Appreciate it.

Awesome lineup. Personally Im not a fan of Vampire Weekend being a headliner, but the rest of the lineup makes up for it. (I cant go the Saturday show, so here's to hoping they headline that day haha.)
Jack White, Outkast, Phoenix, Interpol, Damon Albarn, Grimes, JENNY LEWIS, The 1975, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, Frank Turner, Broken Bells......damnn thats gonna be a great weekend.
In case their was any doubt how amazing this fest is. Exerpt from a conversation I am currently having with a friend of mine who may or may not work for Governors Ball about Damon Albarn:
he's coming out with a new record this spring and according to his agent and manager his set will feature his new tunes, blur tunes, and gorillaz tunes
Good to know he won't be having a bad case of "Only playing the new stuff."

The Strokes were left off the NYTimes ad. Maybe they just confirmed them? ANyway, they're a big name act as well (also getting a Julian Casablancas solo):

I swear I saw something in my news feed that said Drake, too. I can't find it now though.

Some of those festival newz sites tend to have posts go missing . Maybe it was one of those situations?

For me, it's the strongest top of the line of any festival. I'm a big fan of Jack White and Vampy Weeks and am more than excited for an Outkast reunion. The rest of the lineup (which is filled with awesome things I know or need to discover) is like delicious icing on an already fantastic cake.
