I'm excited for the new album and all, but do you guys think this might mean less material from his other projects in his solo set? That would make me sad

Jack White has to fill a headlining slot. Plenty of time to play stuff from his other projects and two albums worth of his solo stuff.
Just signed up for the quarterly Vault deal from 3rd Man and am excited as hell for this show. The brother has so much good material to draw from I will be happy no matter what he decides to play.
I was actually kinda shocked at the first ever solo Jack show when he played material from his other bands. Figured he woulda taken the "I'm Jack and I play what I want" approach. Definitely wasn't disappointed though - that show and the endless tour that followed was unbelievable. Wouldn't shock me if he started playing more and more solo stuff, also wouldn't surprise me if he stuck to playing the hits with a smattering of new stuff. When it comes to Jack, expect the unexpected and enjoy the ride.
Yea, I think he'll still hit his usual numbers from his other bands. Hopefully it is a longer-than-usual set for him and not just removing songs to fit in others.
I love the Vault. I have so many more versions of White Stripes, Raconteurs, and Jack White Solo records than I would be able to own any other way. Lots of great live material and full concert recordings. I usually opt out when it's not that great of a package but it's totally worth it for fans of White's music.

I was selfishly thinking the same thing.
I am amped for the new album, and will wanna hear it live, but still I want to hear a lot of White Stripes stuff again.

In reality, White Stripes was a Jack White solo project too.

I've been Waffling on it for a while. The annual singles package is always intriguing, and I definitely like The White Stripes and Raconteurs enough for most of those weeks.
Plus, they will make my record collection - which is organized autobiographically - a little easier to navigate.
June 10th is right around when one of the vault packages was shipped last year (my first one). I wonder if vault folks will get an advanced copy as part of a package...

What do you mean by "advanced copy"? Like a download of the album or something?

I meant maybe getting the album as part of a vault package the week before
I suppose that might defeat the purpose of the vault package unless it's some sort of special edition of the album

Oh, I assumed you saw the earlier post about the vault and the album. The album is part of the vault package and it is a special edition.
The LP for Third Man Records' Vault Package #20 will be the ONLY limited version of Lazaretto to be released. Pressed on split-color blue-and-white vinyl and coupled with exclusive album art, this alternate presentation of the album is both insightful and deserving. Also exclusive to the Vault is a fold-out poster accompanying the album, featuring a classic National Archives photo that serves as a recurrent image throughout the album art.
Unlike the lightning bolt and inverted lightning bolt pressings Third Man did for Jack White's Blunderbuss, this alternate art and colored vinyl will be the only time ANY variation on Lazaretto will be made. Once subscriptions are closed and records are pressed... that's it. Don't sleep. Get in now or regret it later.

Awesome! Next question... Did you get the most recent vault package yet? I never got an email saying it was shipped
EDIT: nvm I just checked the website

No, and now that you mention it I want to look into that. I got an e-mail at the end of February asking for a confirmation on the address or if it had changed but I did not get the Vault package yet.

They posted on 3/31 that they were getting ready to ship out. Alphabetical by first name, starting with international people

Gotcha. Yea, I went on the message board Little Room to see what others were saying and I think a few are starting to get them so that calmed me down a bit. Thought it got lost in the mail or something.
And Jack comes out swinging. If this instrumental is any indication, Lazaretto is going to be a little more White Stripesy than Blunderbuss. Love it.
I give the new track an enthusiastic thumbs up! I just listened to it twice back to back on You Tube, imagining what it would sound like coming from the stage.

You guys are't talking the newest vault item with the Lazaretto goods are you?
I can see Jack opening his new shows with the new single. Great rock jam to start off a show, cant wait.
