They're teasing on Instagram with a photo of Dave and Taylor with the caption "Get ready". My guess is they're probably ready to announce their next album (Dave announced earlier in the year that the songs were already written) and a massive tour will follow. I would be very happy to finally have them on the farm. Get Dave in on the Superjam as well!
I'm down for it, they fill the old, white guy tradition pretty well.
If Old white guy = past their prime, then yes. Dave doesn't have too many greys yet.
Also, I'd be fine with The Foo Fighters. It's to my understanding they rarely put on a bad show.
This is very true. They always give it 110% and can and do on many an occasion put on 2+ hour shows. If they play its a guaranteed entertaining rocking show
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

I think Foo Fighters is one of the few rock bands that I have never been able to get into... even though I am a huge Nirvana fan, respect Dave Grohl, and love his movie Sound City. I keep trying to force myself to try to enjoy their albums but can't feel them. I bet they would (hopefully) be a better live band than studio band, though. I would be game watching them and trying them out...

Their early albums are really the only ones I can still listen to from start to finish. I mean, I still remember watching Monkey Wrench and ever long videos on Much Music like it was yesterday. They'd be a far better nostalgia act than the Peppers were in 2012.
I can't believe how long it has been since some of those early albums. I've never seen them, so I would be totally into them coming to the farm. Very nostalgic indeed.
Iv seen them 4 times and they have always been solid live. I remember back in high school I saw them open for RHCP, and they took so much air out of the crowd that the Chili Peppers just fell flat by comparison. But Iv also seen them 4 times so not exactly my number 1 pick for a headliner... If they get Prince or another solid headliner that would make driving across country feel justified I'd be alright with it though.

Hang on, I'm confused. How many times have you seen Foo Fighters?

All for the Foos in 2014. I said this in a previous thread, but if they do away with the typical "Jam Band" Sunday headliner, I could see the Foos playing Sunday night. Usually their sets are pretty long. Just some foo, uh, food for thought.
2021 08-07: Japanese Breakfast @ Union Transfer 09-08: My Morning Jacket / Brittany Howard @ The Mann 09-18: Soccer Mommy @ Union Transfer 10-01 thru 10-03: Austin City Limits Music Festival 10-19: Waxahatchee @ Union Transfer 10-27: Arlo Parks @ The Foundry 11-09: Squid @ Johnny Brenda's 11-17: Monophonics @ World Cafe Live 12-01: Caribou @ Union Transfer

Sunday headliner needs to be an act that isn't gonna be too hard for a good portion of people to skip, as a lot of people leave early due to work or long drives and ect. I dunno if the foo fighters fall into that category, but maybe they do.
They would be perfect as a friday night headliner.
Fri - Foo Fighters Sat - Prince Sun - some take it or leave act that folks would not be too upset in missing if they have to leave early (Zac Brown Band / DMB / Eric Clapton)
