Yeah, but the point was made that "no other festival getting them actually benefits Bonnaroo". So with that logic wouldn't Bonnaroo stray away from outkast if the idea is to book acts that aren't playing on other festivals? Or am I misinterpreting?
I think the point was that they wouldn't just play one festival (especially not just firefly) so the fact that we haven't seen them on other lineups fares better for Bonnaroo getting them. Last year a lot of bands went from Roo directly up to Firefly so this makes sense.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Grohl is a grrreat drummer, playing a mediocre frontman. A pretty grin and big choruses fulla pisspoor lyrics.
I don't think his lyrics are pisspoor, they're just pretty direct and don't leave a ton of room for interpretation. He's not selling himself as a "damaged musician", he's a craftsman. As far as being a mediocre frontman, have you ever been to a Foo Fighters show? For an arena rocker, he engages with the crowd and entertains better than anyone else I've seen.

While I enjoy seeing the Foo's live, and I think Grohl is a great frontman, the music has definitely gotten more and more boring. I still wouldn't pass up on the opportunity to see them again. It's the energy on stage, the cohesiveness of the band that I enjoy the most. And, Grohl is a charismatic guy.

I disagree. Wasting Light is one of my favorite albums of theirs and probably one of my favorite albums, period, and that's the most recent one. I guess it depends on the person though. I'm obviously biased because they're one of my favorite bands and I love seeing them live, so of course I enjoy their music. I don't really know what to expect out of a new album but I'm excited to see what they have in store. Especially if that means a new tour/live setup.
While I loved being at this show, I'd like my most recent FF memory to be without a drunk guy passing out on top of me
Thanks for posting this, listening & watching it right now and realizing how much I love Grohl. Selfishly, I don't want them on the farm this year cos I won't be able to make it, but they'd be awesome, for sure

If In Your Honor was like 10-12 tracks instead of two discs it wouldn't feel like it was so full of filler. Too bad, could have been a solid album. Something like this just off the top of my head...
