They are trying to revitalize Hartford and as a part of the plan they are building a stadium in the middle of the low-income, crime-ridden North End (among restaurants, a brewery, etc.). Their new name? The HARTFORD YARD GOATS. Really? Yard Goats?
It's barely north of 84, just above downtown. I believe it's taking up all those parking lots just above the highway, between Main St. and the road to the Meadows.

There used to be a rivalry, as the Richmond team moved there from Norwich - about 30 miles from Hartford, 40 from NB.

WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- The police say a man and woman in their 30s almost got away with having sex outside a Family Dollar store -- until someone posted video of the act on YouTube and Facebook.
Now, Danny Folco, 33, and Jennifer Bonsante, 35, have been charged with indecent exposure.
The police said they received a call just after 6:30 p.m. on Monday saying a couple were having sex in "plain view" of people at 403 Clinton St.
When officers arrived, they found Folco and Bonsante behind the Family Dollar store. Police observed that Folco's zipper was down, but the pair denied having sex in public view, and they were released.
The next day, a video was posted to Facebook showing a man and woman wearing the same clothes that Folco and Bonsante had worn when officers spoke to them. The woman in the video is not wearing pants and is moving in a way that a reasonable person can tell they are having sex, the police said.
They were arrested overnight Thursday and presented in District Court, Providence, Friday morning. The results of their arraignments were not immediately available.
At the end of the video that led to the pair's arrest, a voice can be heard saying, "You can get a room. You know that, right?" The video shows at least two kids on vehicles, one of whom made the video.

I would say there's a difference between having sex at Roo and having sex outside of a dollar store visible from a public street. Roo is 99.5% adults, and it's expected people are having sex there.
Also, I haven't actually seen anyone having sex at Roo. Topless girls a handful of times, but never any sex acts.

I'd say for the most part Roo sex occurs in tents or in cars but I'm sure some people just find slightly secluded spots on the ground once it is late night and borderline Zombieland anyway. My ex and I might have briefly briefly considered doing that (as in floated the idea, paused for about five seconds to ponder it, and then decided we weren't ready to stoop that low even though the walk back to the tent was gonna be long).

This is actually positive. There is a good sized Farmer's Market downtown in Market Square. There is a small public fountain there that kids play in during the warmer months. A kid is playing it and gets separated from his mom. The responding officer sees the boy is visibly upset, so, thinking of what he would want if he was a scared child, he picks the boy up and holds him as he tries to locate the boy's mom in the square. It's fucking adorable.

You gotta deal with the threat that is reported based off a worse case scenario type thing. You hear bomb threat at a federal building, you think of Oklahoma City and not this guy. You also have to remember that the guy who killed two and shot 7 at TVUUC looked like this.
The officers in green are Knoxville's SWAT (or whatever initials they use), so it's no surprise they are geared up.

So many people defending the Confederate flag around here. It shouldn't surprise me yet it somehow still does.
As an addendum, Tennessee also has a controversy brewing over a bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest being displayed in the Capitol. I had a nice conversation with my admin. It seemed easy for him to dismiss my objection about his connection to the KKK being an issue as everyone having dark chapters in their life despite my objection that the darkest chapters of my life not involving hanging minorities from trees. It seemed more difficult for him to defend the idea that he was a Confederate general which makes him an odd choice for a person to show off in your state's capitol, much like it's really strange to fly the flag of a secessionist movement over an official government building. Aside from the whole slavery thing, the ultra conservative patriot righties seem to forget that the Confederacy was a group of states that told the USA (the one they are gonna defend with their guns and such from the minorities) to fuck off.
