We were camped near the middle of the campground last year, and we also left to go into Athens for some food and beer and had no issues whatsoever getting out or back in. The people camped beside us seemed to leave every day for one thing or another, too.

I've lived within walking distance of the festival during my time in nursing school and so I've been around the Nelsonville area for awhile now. You can absolutely leave the festival and come back at anytime. My lease and time in Nelsonville are over in June but I'll always be coming back to the NMF. Also wanted to invite those of you coming for some BBQing if you're interested in a quick five minute walk from the festival at some point that weekend. Food and beers provided.

I want to say the music started later on Thursday, like after 4 p.m., giving people time to come in and set up. The music on Thursday was over sometime around midnight. The music on Friday and Saturday started around noon or not too long afterward and also ended at midnight or not too long after midnight, from my recollections. I do distinctly remember they will push the music late if there is rain or some other form of delay.

Cool thanks that the only thing I couldn't really did on their website!
My brother went to this last year and is going again this year I might have to join him sound like a blast I really like the fact you can bring a firepit in ! Still haven't decided buying my roo ticket made my budget pretty thin for next month guess we will see .
Will ticket prices go up when the next round of additions are announced? I'm trying to get a few friends on board so am curious how much time we have before a price increase. If they go by a similar schedule to last year, the third round of additions came in very early March.

I just referred to a few emails I have from Stuart's Opera House and though nothing seems to mention an increase in price, I think it would be safe to say there will be since that's typically how they do things and I'm sure I paid more than $100 +fees last year. This price is excellent; I do recommend volunteering though! It's my favorite way to experience this fest. Have Fun and good luck with your friends!

It looks like they added a handful of acts to the lineup, including: - Shovels & Rope - Kurt Vile - Valerie June - St. Paul and the Broken Bones They've also released a list showing on what days a lot of the acts are playing.
Avetts Dinosaur Jr Shovels & Rope The Head & The Heart St. Paul & the Broken Bones & I've heard good things about Kurt Vile, Frank Turner, & Shaky Graves too.
Just sucks that this is the weekend my little brother graduates high school so I wouldn't be there all day Saturday pretty much. Decisions, decisions....

Just wanted to say I'm going to this! Looking forward to a kick ass festival to get me in the mood for roo first year going to two fests simply couldn't be more excited also this lineup is killer
I think we should organize an Inforoo meetup, perhaps even a meal between breaksfast and lunch style, at some point that weekend.
I mainly suggest this because all of my friends backed out on me and I will be lonely!
Agree 100 percent on this. I will, most likely, be coming solo as well. I will be covering the weekend as a photog and am really excited about the lineup. Camp Inforoo at Nelsonville? Sounds like a great idea to me. :-)

So being a mod and all.. I think that qualifies you to volunteer to organize everything right??
Really I'll do what I can.. not sure what would even need to be done.. but I would be down for a pre nelsonville meetup as well to form an inforoo area of the campground (not sure how all of that works there, this will be my first time at Nelsonville)

Haha, well I am not the greatest organizer. But it is not like it is a Roo group with a hundred people. :-) I have not been there before either. I think somebody with a better idea of the area could give us insight into where to meet up, possibly?
Ah man, you guys are doing an inforoo meet up now?!?! Salt to the wounds that I'm not going... My brother is graduating that weekend so I'd miss all day Saturday, which makes the $100 ticket really hard to justify since I'd be missing a full day. I'm super sad now.

Well you could volunteer your spot as the pre meetup loacation if you want to feel involved??

Like a Columbus (or all of Ohio) InfoRoo Pre-Nelsonville house party? I could get down with that if that's what you mean? I have my own house and plenty of beds/floor space.
edit: I live in Canal Winchester, it's a straight shot down 33 to Nelsonville from my house, maybe 40mins or so.

I was totally kidding / not expecting you to be in for that idea, but I'm coming through Columbus anyway, and it does seem like there are a few more CBus natives going / just part of Inforoo in general.
Time to start the MonieMonster's cant go to Nelsonville, consolation House Party thread??

Why on earth would I not be down with that? I LOVE house parties!!! AAAANNNDDDD I'll be on my primary then, so no work for me regardless of the dates! Alcohol, roosters, festival love, BRING IT!
In all seriousness though, if anyone is coming from out of town and wants to come down a day early I would gladly open up my extra space to any traveling roosters I love everyone on this board and would love to help someone out if they need it.

Poor choice of words on my part. I guess I am just always amazed at the generosity of everyone on this board. I would definately be down for a CBus Inforoo hangout be it before Nelsonville or another time.
I still need some friends for DURING the festival though!!

I am all for a meetup pre entering the fest on Thursday if at all possible, so we can camp together. If that is desirable. If there is any overflow I have plenty of room here as well. Although I am in the German Village, so not as close as Monie is to the festival. I am not sure if the gf is coming or not, I should probably ask about that....:-)
Hey everyone, haven't logged on the boards in awhile but I'm also down for a meetup. I live within walking distance to the festival and would love to have some people over for some BBQing. Unfortunately my lease ends a few days after the festival so more than likely my grill and things will be gone, if plans change I'll keep all of you updated. Regardless I'm attending this year and want to hang out with you folks, anything concrete on a meet up yet? The great thing about this festival is the fact that its incredibly easy to find people.

i am really excited about nelsonville yet again! i think this year's lineup has more bands i'm looking forward to seeing than any other year - this will be my 4th straight year but my first year camping at the fest. i am down for meeting up with folks sometime. my wife and i are going to be coming down with another couple so i don't know how feasible a pre-fest meetup to coordinate camping would be. it didn't seem like the campgrounds were too big or crowded though in years past. here's hoping they release the set times this week.
on thursday i think it starts around 4:00. fri - sun it seemed to start earlier, around noon or 1:00. this is all based on my fuzzy memories though so don't quote me.
