I will venture a final headliner guess of Foo Fighters, Black Sabbath, and Green Day.
Tool/Faith No More/Outkast
Foo Fighters are highly probable though.
I really doubt they would be stupid enough to book Green Day after Billy Jo bitching out and the massively positive reaction to Green Day being replaced by Metallica.
When the Foo Fighters were here a month ago and had the secret show, we were out there almost all day. According to one of the roadies, he said the Foo Fighters were out for Voodoo. Not sure how reliable that actually is.
Caaaaaaaaaalifornia rest in peace Simuuuuuultaneeeeeeeous reeeeeeeelease
Are you "confirming" RHCP with this post? If so, I would explode. Impulse bought my ticket on presale because it was so affordable. Now my favorite band is going to be a headliner?? My mind will be BLOWN
If Voodoo got 2 rap/hip hop headliners, there is going to be some epic derpage on the internet today after the lineup is announced. Fortunately that is not going to happen at this festival ever, but I would love to see the internet backlash if it did.
Who would the Oscar winner be, though? With infinitypass' track record and no OutKast New Orleans date, I have to assume that's a definite. Maybe it's David Byrne.
Prince, David Byrne, Eminmem or Bob Dylan for the Oscar.
Really hope it isn't Eminmem. His '09 set was one of the definitive over-produced garbage presentations of music I've ever witnessed. I made it about 20 minutes before I bailed and saw Ween for the first time. One of the best choices I've ever made.
No way it's Prince, but that would be unreal if he headlined two fests in NOLA in the same year. His date at Essence is sold out almost and there's like a 2% overlap in those crowds probably so it wouldn't make a difference.
I hope Voodoo stays with their roots. A lot of fests went the hip hop/edm heavy route this year and it really watered down the festival scene. Outkast is fine, but I'd like to see them get 2 other big rock acts as the headliners. I'm not going this year but it's on my radar for future years so I'd like to see that they're sticking with a blueprint I would enjoy.
Zaj128- I am with you 100%. Voodoo was my first legit music festival in '02 and it's in my favorite city in the world. They've had so many awesome, rock heavy, diverse lineups I just hate how the EDM crap has watered it down.
It used to be cool when they'd have EDM but it was all 90's rave acts like Bad Boy Bill and Rabbit In the Moon that had a connection to the State Palace Theater rave days in NOLA. I really could give a crap about some 19 year old on a laptop. Kid Koala and Invisbl Skratch Piklz are the most legit Djs they've had in recent years. Big surprise that both acts are turntablists.
I'm really hoping they bring in the heavy rock music for this years fest. It could go either way really. Epcot lineup or shizzy lineup.
Anyone that went last year surely is praying they figure out the soundbleed this year. They need to put the EDM stage as far away from everything else as possible. Keep the dbag kids and their womp away from the real musicians.
Lady at work was listening to Rob Ryan this morning, and this was all she could write down. I know him as a DJ but I'm not sure if he's punking the listeners or what. I had sent this to Jabco via text, but since he didn't post, I figured I'd join up and pass it on. What she got was: Slayer (), 30 Seconds to Mars, 212 Pilots, AWOL Nation, Outkast, Foo Fighters, the Bleachers, Rise Against, The Melvins (). We know Big Freedia is playing based off that Fuse Article yesterday. You can still get tickets through next Friday with the code "BIGFREEDIA" and I think the lady at work said Rob had "Voodoo" as another code. It doesn't matter to me what the lineup is, because it's 10 blocks from my house and one of the most chill festivals there is. I'm kind of jacked that Griz is probably coming since he's my favorite DJ these days. He was bad*** at Buku.
I'd enjoy Foo/Outkast/Slayer/Rise Against but I'd want another big rock act there. Slayer does nothing for me at all anymore. I've seen them a few times as openers for other rock acts on the mayhem/uproar tours. I guess at the same time idk who's gonna be touring that would be available to get that makes sense. We'll have to see.
