there is no way after being this quiet and not even giving an announcement date that MIA would just leak their headliner. just someone taking a logical guess
That is really odd. The guy seems like a corporate type for some beer company with ties to Bud, not just some random scammer, yet he implies that this was posted by MIA which is obviously wasn't on any of their official outlets.
anyone else see all the tweets from MIA yesterday? im wondering if they hindted at 2 artists. there was a picture they rewtweeted and mentioned Lana Del Ray and another one they used the word nectar i odnt know why but im thinking they were telling us that Lana and Bassnectar will be playing
There would still be almost 4 months after May 5th to sell tix so I don't think that'd be a huge issue. I noticed the Del Ray thing and thought the same thing as well.
It does depend on the lineup but Hangout announced almost exactly 4 months to the day and is already sold out. Difference experience for sure but also costs more and in a less populous area. I'm hoping for something good a week from today.
Not a good sign if you're rooting for the Philly festival to be better.
Most likely they had a set aside number of tickets for the reduced price and LA sold out more quickly because it is a new festival and people are buzzing about it.

I think it's even more simple than that, at least to explain the initial difference... It's far more expensive to produce an event like this in LA, especially the first year. The permits alone could account for a large portion of the difference. Plus, artists, even the same ones, may request a larger fee being that it's a top market they're being blocked out of.
uea LA in general is more expensive than Philly too and i dont know how long they have been working on the LA one but finidng a good enoguh lineup to put out might have been a little costly if the process started after most fests booked their acts.
I must have missed that. I'm not huge on them and they are at Firefly so I didn't think they were super likely but I couldn't quickly think of another rock act for that slot. Nas and Pharrell are likely. Thought of Bastille as well. I hope no Lorde, just a waste of a spot in my opinion.
havent checked Acrtic monkeys schedule lately musta missed that but since FF is doing single days im going that friday just to see them and foo fighters. i hope no Lorde too but i thhink its gonna be her or lana del ray and i dont want either bcuz it will fill the fest with way too many teenagers. but Lorde is palying Boston Calling the weekend after MIA so it woulod make sense to play philly first.
I caught Lorde's Coachella set, and she actually puts on a pretty decent show. I'm hoping for Vampire Weekend since I won't be seeing them at Roo. They're in the UK the week before MIA, but that's the end of the tour so it wouldn't be a problem for them to get back to the states.
I wouldn't mind seeing Eminem just because he's always been one of my favorite artists. I wouldn't expect much from his performance, but he's a bucket list artist for me. I'm mostly just hoping for no KoL.
Could totally see KOL but that is one of my least favorite options. The Black Keys have been pushing their new album hard. I suppose they could do LA. I hope it's them or better. I'm not expecting too much though. I'll be golfing and drinking all day tomorrow but I'm sure I'll be here at some point to bitch.
