Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Since this year falls on the same dates as 08 can we give him the exact same set time and see if she shows up on time? Either way, I'll br on that rail getting my fan girl on. XoXo.
Btw, I'm a dude.
I say they give him the same set time he actually showed up for in 08.
Fuck Kayne! "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." I will not be fooled again. I waited hours to see him in 2008 because people here said that the glow in the dark show would be amazing and that it would be the best show all weekend. They were wrong. He was horrible and I have no desire to see him ever again. I was planning on going to Roo this year but if Kayne is there, then I won't be (although the thought of throwing rotten tomatoes at him sounds like fun). I would rather just sell my free street team tickets and use the money to go to a fest closer to home, preferably a fest with Outkast headlining.

Wait, so you'd honestly skip Bonnaroo over one headliner? I don't get that thinking.

I'm glad to know that this poll shows that people like you are the minority
I had previously posted about only being 89.9% sure that i would be making an appearance. My reservations where due to the fact that the 08 fiasco left me with a bad impression of him as a musician (i wasnt at roo in 08) and that my best friend would probably use this as a reason to not come, but after giving Late Registration & College Dropout a re-listen I quickly came to the realization that holding some sort of grudge that didn't directly involve me was stupid. There will be 0% chance that i will miss this if it comes to fruition. In fact, i will be in line for the pit. Its time to celebrate.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

That was a very quick turnaround. Congrats on coming to the right side of the debate, Yeezus accepts everyone

C'mon FestivalSnob, Bonnaroo is only about headliners! That's why they have the biggest print!
I think the people that get upset, whether they saw him in 08 or have not seen him at all, they get upset cause it seems like a "wasted" headliner spot. This happens every year with whomever Bonnaroo gets. I understand that Kanye holds a special place in people's dark hardened cold hearts because of said past transgressions and because of other numerous and various stupid things he's done. Fact is, lots of people like him. Him being there again won't change Bonnaroo forever, it's just a disappointing waste of a headlining spot for many people.

I just don't get that. I don't see how someone can hold such a silly grudge like that for so long
Would they let yeezy use any of the stage setup that he currently used to promote his latest work?
I would imagine that part of the mending fences process of having Kanye play Bonnaroo is giving him the freedom to do whatever he wants in terms of stage setup, since that seemed to be the biggest issue between the two in 08.

It's not just about the 2008 fiasco. I didn't go that year. But I can guarantee you that I won't go see Kanye if I go this year. I have no interest at all. Just like I had no interest in seeing Eminem a couple years ago. Some people have listened to his music and think he sucks. Others haven't listened and think he sucks strictly on his abrasive persona. It doesn't mean they're wrong. If you like him, it doesn't mean you're right. To each their own, but you gotta understand that he's probably the most divisive headliner that Bonnaroo has ever gotten, then and now. So people will be highly disappointed at what they see as a wasted headliner spot. It is what it is. One headliner does not make or break a Roo. Be happy or don't, Bonnaroo will get their money either way.

Most likely I will. I really loved MBDTF and WTT. Sadly, I'm not too familiar with his older albums outside of his singles (and I know which ones I should start with).
His Coachella set looked incredible. This booking will create some backlash, but also a lotttt of buzz. And I ultimately believe he will kill it and win everybody back over.
I'm hoping there will be just as much "Forgive Kanye" graffiti as there will be "Fuck Kanye" graffiti, but I doubt it.

I understand not liking his music, I 100% get that. I'm not sure I'll be at Elton John, it's just the people that don't like him for the 2008 incident that I find to be absurd

I'm not sure how much of his music you've listened to but you should probably stop immediately.
ive listened to enough of his music to know I do not want to hear another note, chord, or sound come from him on a stage.
This thread is what it is. People of my generation seem to n sync and the back street boys. Doesn't make it music.
Try pink Floyd, the Beatles, led Zeppelin, nwa, dre, or someone else woth some talent.
Now, back to a real issue, playing with my kids, because Kanye is about as relevant as timbuckthree
"People of my generation", NSYNC, Backstreet Boys... So you're what, my age, 28 or so? I mean, I totally get enjoying music made in years past, hell, my favorite artist made his most iconic works before World War II. What I don't get is your lack of ANY modern artists in that list, and no, I will not count Dre. I mean, for god sakes, stop acting like someones dad.

No one with knowledge of Dr Dre would say he's more talented than Kanye, the man doesn't even write his own verses

I'm not saying this to stir any pots, I just want to jump in and say that I don't think it's absurd to be a little weary of Kanye after 2008. I'm not ever going to say holding a grudge is a good thing but imagine how you would feel if you waited almost the entire day to get a good spot for this amazing show, and you can't enjoy it cause the sun has come up? Imagine you passed on a couple of bands you were really excited about to see Kanye, only to see a sub-par show where he barely engaged the crowd.
A lot of you are avid music fans and you see shows all the time, for some people Bonnaroo is their entire music fund. They won't always get the luxury skipping Band A to see Band B because Band A is touring in their city the next month. Occasionally its a one time shot, so those conflicts are major!
In 2008 I was fortunate enough to see all the bands I wanted and then stroll over to Kanye afterwards, get bored with waiting and walk back to camp. My feelings weren't hurt because I didn't lose out on anything. But some people spent an entire day waiting for nothing.
I'm not saying don't be excited for Kanye, I'm not saying we should run around shouting "fuck Kanye", just maybe try to understand why people are a little jaded and refrain from ostracizing them...

I just find complaining about relevancy with that list to be absolutely comical. Dre hasn't mattered in years.
