Predictions for people playing Pitchfork this year:
Beck (I know its a longshot and they seem like more of a Lolla band but they could headline one night. Fit into that one Iconic act they get) Neutral Milk Hotel (One of the bigger reunions of 2014, Pitchfork Darlings) Spoon ( new album this year, already announces a handful of festivals this summer) St Vincent (new album this year, Pitchfork darling) Real Estate (new album) The Men (new album) Grimes (doing a handful of festivals this summer) EMA (new album) Liars (new album) Speedy Ortiz Mutual Benefit (glowing reviews on Pfork) Deafheaven
Hip Hop:
Pusha T Earl Sweatshirt Chance the Rapper
Electronic:
Darkside (one of the bigger acts) The Range Jon Hopkins Forest Swords

Neutral Milk Hotel just added a bunch of dates in July. They are playing the Sasquatch festival on 4th of July weekend. They they are doing a short Northeast tour starting July 20th. It would totally make sense to have them headlining the festival the first or second day.

So these are the dates Pitchfork announced their headliners/first round of artists performing their festival:
2013: feb 1st 2012: feb 28th 2011: march 4th 2010: feb 5th 2009: march 6th 2009: march 9th
What do you think the odds are that they announce a headliner tomorrow morning (as they often do so on friday to have the post up as the top story the entire weekend)?
I've already got my 3 day pass. This was a very strong lineup. I was expecting Outkast tho. 4 fests this summer and they're not on 3 of the lineups if they aren't at Roo. c'mon lolla

Slowdive! My only concern with them would be it's an outdoor venue. I saw another of the classic shoegaze acts, Ride, back in their heyday, but it was inside where the sound could envelop you.

This lineup is incredible! It's too bad I just found out this week that I'm teaching second term this summer, which starts July 3. I reallllllly want to go to this. On top of the awesome acts, the whole atmosphere was awesome when I went in 2011.
For me, it's that good of a show. I'm in love with the fact that after 15 years, they never skipped a beat. That said, Slowdive is a bucket list. I've seen Mojave 3 and Neil Halstead, both. I'm glad I finally get a chance to see them.
I love how I go from "Awe that'll be fun" to "I'm in" with just 9 posts in-between.

I guess I'm not cool enough for Pitchfork, I had to look up about half of the acts announced so far. Looks just ok to me. Beck is the only headliner that interests me.
Would Slint be a possibility for another reunion act? I know they played the last time they got back together (2007, I think?), but the box set/documentary might have them playing more than one show this year.
