College Dropout and 808's and heartbreak were fantastic albums. Kanye sucks as a person. I don't know how Roo could book him after everything back in 2008, but we forgive and forget I suppose. Yeezus was OK. I don't like Rap live, it's like karaoke, and bonnaroo needs to work on the sound on the stages. Wu-Tang was great but the sound sucked. Raekwon couldn't be heard half the time. My biggest issue though is that most rap when performed live is basically karaoke. Kanye is definitely eccentric though, and his stage presence will be unrivaled.

If the festival are willing to forgive him for what happened, why aren't you?
The festival does whatever it does for the money, that's why they forgave him (most likely tho they had to apologize to him and do him favours until his diva ass accepted the gratuitous amounts of money that were being thrown at him.)

The most Ironic part of this whole thing... I've been listening to The College Dropout this whole time I've been posting on here this AM. Apparently you can't make Kanye jokes because people get ultra sensitive and like to cry about it.

I will never forget Waiting all night for his set in 2008. I skipped Phil cause I wanted to see it. Then... he never came out. for like EVER! I finally gave up and went and sat on top of my RV in VIP and watched the lights from ghostland observatory dance among the bonnaroo night until he finally came out. I watched the whole Kanye set from up there, and when it was over, I watched thousands of zombified bonnaroovians stream out in the early light of the rising sun.
Then a few days later, I read this...

Quick story: I battled for decent position for WU and there were hoards of bros who probably knew the phrases cream, bring the ruckus, and wu aint nothing to f wit... anyways a guy with a girl on his shoulders is slamming through the crowd and two kids stop them and say "you will not get through us I promise unless she names her favorite member of Wu right now."
Waited like 10 awkward seconds and her bf finally told her to say ODB and she repeated it. Needless to say she was not let through and maybe 20 people started cheering.
A win for humanity imo. As a sidenote I'm not sure how I feel about ODB being someones favorite Wu member anyways. Love his contributions but favorite?

True, people are sensitive about Kanye. I do not enjoy the mans music. I was not crossing my fingers he would be on the lineup. But, it looks like he is. A lot of people are really looking forward to it, and that is AWESOME.

I just don't understand people still being angry about one show from 6 years ago. He didn't cause that whole weekend to be canceled, the worst possible thing Kanye West did was cause you to miss part of a set from another artist. That's pretty much it. Why did you skip Phil's set? You could have seen 2 and a half hours of his set before Kanye's scheduled start time.

If Jack pulls a Kanye stunt or anything like that I would be pissed off at him too. The difference is I like Jack White and I would probably continue to enjoy his music. Would I want him to headline roo again? No.
Just to clarify I wasn't even there in 08. If I had been I wouldn't have been there waiting on Kanye. I still think what he did and even moreso his reaction to it was a dick move and it just adds to the reasons that I don't like him. It's not what caused me to hate him.

If Jack White did it to Bonnaroo fans at Bonnaroo I'm sure people on here would hold more of a grudge. Also, while Jack White is a weirdo and definitely has had some negative press he's nowhere near as divisive as Kanye is. Some people dislike Kanye because of all the things he says and does in interviews and shows and other things. Jack White isn't in the public eye or gossip entertainments shows nearly as much.

True, people are sensitive about Kanye. I do not enjoy the mans music. I was not crossing my fingers he would be on the lineup. But, it looks like he is. A lot of people are really looking forward to it, and that is AWESOME.
I did not immediately sign on to a message board and:
1. Use insults regarding mentally challenged people 2. Use insults and examples of what I was going to do at the show using homophobic aquatic imagery 3. Give a "heads up" I was going to be disruptive at a show a lot of people on this board are extremely excited to see
So you see it is not your opinion that is the problem. It is the way you worded/presented/threatened to express it.

I'm sorry about the use of mentally challenged comment as I said before it came out wrong, I'm far from homophobic and never said being a Gay Phish was a bag thing, if fact I said the opposite about how that would be his best quality. And for anyone who thinks I'm was being serious about 200 gay fish balloons then you got the issues not me.
I don't get all the hate for Kanye while Jack White gets a free pass.. Jack threw a hissy fit a year ago in NYC and ended his show after only 45 min. In my opinion that's way worse than what Kanye did. Also when you look at their personal lives, Jack is way more batshit.
If Jack White did it to Bonnaroo fans at Bonnaroo I'm sure people on here would hold more of a grudge. Also, while Jack White is a weirdo and definitely has had some negative press he's nowhere near as divisive as Kanye is. Some people dislike Kanye because of all the things he says and does in interviews and shows and other things. Jack White isn't in the public eye or gossip entertainments shows nearly as much.
That's the media's fault then.. If you compare the two incidents, Kanye showed up late to the festival (still performed!) and it's not like a vast majority of people came just to see him; their were plenty of other acts... Jack in NYC last year was at a show where tickets were going for $80 face value and skyrocketed to well over $100 in the secondary market, and people came just to see him and only him perform.. And he did 45 min, cursed off the crowd and promoters, then took off.. That's way worse in my opinion.

I will never forget Waiting all night for his set in 2008. I skipped Phil cause I wanted to see it. Then... he never came out. for like EVER! I finally gave up and went and sat on top of my RV in VIP and watched the lights from ghostland observatory dance among the bonnaroo night until he finally came out. I watched the whole Kanye set from up there, and when it was over, I watched thousands of zombified bonnaroovians stream out in the early light of the rising sun.

I CUT A FEW SONGS FROM THE SET BECAUSE I WANTED PEOPLE 2 EXPERIENCE STRONGER WHILE THERE WAS STILL SOME DARKNESS TO PERFORM IT IN. I’VE STRUGGLED WITH STRONGER FROM IT’S CONCEPTION. REMEMBER LAST SUMMER WHEN I CANCELED SOME TV APPEARANCES. IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN’T WANT TO PERFORM STRONGER IN THE DAYTIME. ANYONE WHO CAME TO THE GLOW TOUR CAN UNDERSTAND WHY I WANTED PEOPLE TO SEE IT PROPERLY. IT BROKE MY HEART THAT I COULDN’T GIVE THESE FANS STRONGER IN IT’S GREATEST FORM… BY THE TIME I GOT TO STRONGER IT WAS DAYTIME AND IT BROKE MY HEART. I’M SORRY TO EVERYONE THAT I DIDN’T HAVE THE ABILITY 2 GIVE THE PERFORMANCE I WANTED TO. Why did you skip Phil's set? You could have seen 2 and a half hours of his set before Kanye's scheduled start time.
I had already seen Phil twice at Bonnaroo... 2002 and 2006, plus his stints with the Dead in 2003 and 2004. I saw Sigur Ros late night instead and when it was over I headed to Kanye... It was supposed to be nearly seamless according to the schedule. There was no mention at that moment in time that we'd be waiting for 2+ hours, and I figured if I left to see Phil, he'd come out right away.
